Neowin.net Toolbar provides easy access to sections of its namesake Web site, along with some clever perks, though we had some trouble tuning in to preset radio stations. The program adds a simply designed toolbar to IE's window. A pull-down menu houses links to sections of choice on Neowin.net for the latest tech news, along with an Internet search field powered by Google.

You'll find numerous extras such as links for map directions, access to chat forums, and an online malware scan in addition to the standard toolbar features such as weather display, e-mail notification, pop-up blocker, and trace cleaners. It's easy to customize and remove unwanted buttons from the toolbar and add quick links to several Microsoft Office and Windows applications. Everything worked well, with the exception of the Internet radio. While we had no difficulty adding and tuning in to user-specified stations, the program failed to connect to any preset stations.

Even so, this piece of freeware scores for its nifty perks and flexibility, and any user interested in the latest technology news from Neowin will find this toolbar a handy IE add-on.
