We've been working on Myth III: The Wolf Age since the summer of 2002. MythDev successfully lobbied Take-Two Interactive, the publishers and owners of the Myth Franchaise, into allowing us to have access to the source code for Myth III so that we could continue to provide updates, fixes and other support as needed.
MythDev is now pleased to announce the public beta period for Myth III v1.2. You can download the latest beta using the links below. Version 1.2 addresses some continuing issues within Myth III and also includes some restored features found in other Myth games. For a complete list of updates, please see the list of enhancements below.
What's new in this version:
- Support for three button mice.
- Support for wide-screen monitors.
- Reduced sprite buffer to improve performance. If the sprite buffer becomes overloaded, you may drop in the number of visible effects. This is being worked on continuously.
- Updated metaserver interface.
- Added plugin manager for multiplayer and solo game play.
- Restart Level/Revert To Last Save has been implemented for solo play.
