In a world of instant gratification--faster loading speeds, quicker navigation, hot key combinations, and so on--who likes to wait for a browser to launch and then navigate from a home page to the Web site you really want to visit? This nifty little add-on will help remove these speed bumps from your surfing.
MuvEnum Address Bar (the name doesn't roll effortlessly off the tongue, but it's the result that counts) installs a URL address field and Go button to your system tray. It launches when you boot, so it's there even before you open a browser, ready to take you to cyberspace.
This free utility performed very well during our tests. We liked its autofill feature for completing URLs once we started typing in the field, and we also appreciated that it opened new tabs instead of new instances of the browser when we entered another URL. We note that it operated only with our default browser: when we opened a different browser, then entered a URL into the MuvEnum field, the tool ignored the open window and launched the site in our default browser. Some users may appreciate this, others may not.
This little tool is simple enough for anyone to use. Those users who need more speed for everything they do certainly will appreciate this freeware.

Version: MuvEnum Address Bar 3.5
"Great replacement for missing address bar."
Pros: Since MS took it away w/SP3, now it's back
Cons: free...no complaints!
Summary: I recommend it 100%

Version: MuvEnum Address Bar 3.5
Pros: It works like you're used to do with the 'old' Windows adress-bar
Cons: (if it is a con:) At startup of windows it always shows the defaukt adress of "http://www.muvenum.com/". However it's free-ware and this is the only 'commercial' vissible on your PC
Summary: Since windows removed it's adress-bar is this a very great alternative. I'm not aware of other programs with identical results but as long this works well, I don't feel the need for change.

Version: MuvEnum Address Bar 3.5
"Great Replacement for what Microsoft Took Out"
Pros: Upgraded to Svc Pack 3 and lost my Address Bar that I used all the time. MuvEnum's Address Bar replaced it and works just fine.
Cons: I used to be able to type search items into the address bar and it would default to my search engine (Google). The MuvEnum bar doesn't seem to do that. But that's not a deal breaker. I'm very happy with it.

Version: MuvEnum Address Bar 3.5
Pros: Easy install, a little more capability; same ease of use.
Cons: Hitting "enter" doesn't get you to the site. You have to click the Go arrow.
Summary: Perfect replacement. I f you depended on the address toolbar until the knuckleheads at Microsoft dropped it, this will serve quite nicely.
