"Yahoo music jukebox socks! Keep your old MusicMatch"

December 17, 2007  |  By dbaremig

 |  Version: Not Found

Cons

I have, and still use, MusicMatch. I paid for MusicMatch Jukebox Plus and all future upgrades and now I'm forced to this "Yapoo Jokeshocks". It's not a upgrade it's a downgrade. All of the features that made MusicMatch an excellent program are gone. !. Yahoo steals all the features I paid for, puts nag&spyware on my computer, and ask me to pay for it !!

The music player hogs RAM, is buggy, and sounds like sh*t. The interface must be made by a child back in 1995. it's ugly.Yahoo has crammed so much paranoid DRM and spyware into this program, that it is like a virus on your hard drive. The DRM and anti-piracy layers of protection open up security holes on your machine that allow hackers to install keyloggers

I can only say, don't touch it !, get rid off it. Yahoo musicbox socks! Keep your old MusicMatch, you can get rid of Yahoo?s ?Upgrade? nag screen by renaming ?C:\Program Files\MUSICMATCH Jukebox\offers.mmc? to ?Offersmmc.OFF?

"Grotesque Parody of a Once Great Product"

December 17, 2007  |  By Zenbob96

 |  Version: Not Found

Pros

Bloated, senseless, disorganized, insecure and totally frustrating to use. MMJB was agreat program and easy to use. My daughter has actually cried over this software...it is such a totall disappointment. Honestly, I cannot imagine how these "people" managed to so gut and cripple a once reat product. The last good MMJB was Version 9, and even V 8+ was vastly better than this. It all began falling apart with V 10, and Yahoo has put it into the grave totally and absolutely. Go back, and "unfix" this please!

Cons

It crashes. The functions and features no longer make sense. Layers of menus to do the most common tasks. Overly complicated interface. Lousy sound qualilty -- go figure, the program is sooooo resource intensive that there is no longer any memory left for actually processing the sound files. The DRM functions are creepy and insulting. Its a slap in the face to all the lifetime paid MMJB supporters. We have all been cheated. It this goofy thing actually was stable and worked, it might be tolerable. This is like bad beta software. It's free, but it's way too expensive! Try Media Monkey, Songbird or some other alternative.

They are simple, easy on resources and fast, even with huge music libraries distributed over multiple drives.

"Easy to use, networks with ease!"

December 16, 2007  |  By joswearingen

 |  Version: Not Found

Pros

Installed cleanly and easily. Networked in a snap (if you have multiple computers, this software actually works.) Supports album cover photos, and adds track names to cd's you burn.

If you are looking for an easy way to store, select, play, and burn from an existing (legal) cd library, this might be a good choice.

Cons

Doesn't always 'recognize' all your cd's. Out of about 200 CD's, maybe 6 wouldn't load. It won't let you add 'home burned' cd's. Musicians gotta make money too.

Not for people who dislike being monitored by Yahoo, or to house a bootleg library. I don't bootleg, period, so it's a good, easy solution for my needs. Haven't tried to purchase any music yet, nor have I upgraded to the 'full' version. Don't use an MP3 player, so I can't comment on that either.

"JUNK! JUNK! JUNK!"

December 16, 2007  |  By TomInVa

 |  Version: Not Found

Pros

NOT 1 THING

Cons

I agree with all the other comments. This is the worst software ever. I too purchased a lifetime upgrade to Music Match, guess that ment "software lifetime" and not my lifetime (LOL). Anyone know of any other software that is more compatable with MM (that has supertags at least). I have been searching the web for days for a better or compatable software to MM, but no luck. Also, check out PC World's article on the Yahoo software. BRINGING BACK MUSIC MATCH WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL X'MAS GIFT FOR ALL OF US :).

"A Giant Step Backwards"

December 15, 2007  |  By gerenr

 |  Version: Not Found

Cons

MMJB was a reliable constant companion for many years. Why did Yahoo think they have to fix something that wasn't broken??! Asinine! The replacement Yahoo music program looks and feels like a beta version of music software that might have been offered in the early days of internet. Keep your old version of MMJB, even if many features (like super tagging) requiring an internet connection no longer work.

December 09, 2007  |  By NAKEDJAZZMAN

 |  Version: Not Found

Cons

This player does not deliver on what it claims to be is no more than a copy of itunes player only not as good The original musicmatch was far superior in versatility and ease of use . especially for use as a platform for internet radio Yahoo should return to the musicmatch jukebox model.

"If CNET gives a product a decent rating , stay away from it."

December 08, 2007  |  By bounders

 |  Version: Not Found

Cons

As soon as the radio launches the nag screen from a sponsor pops up and freezes the software dead in it's tracks. I've tried to use YMM on both Xp and Vista with the identical results.

I'll stay a loyal iTunes user.
