Pros
Keyword hilighting, brace and bracket matching, searching and hilighting using literals or regular expressions, many languages supported (can add your own too).
Cons
Some options are a little more hidden that I'd like, but once you learn where/what options are it's great.

Pros
1) It is 100% configurable. If you know what it's like to be able to 'program' your text editor to do your work for you, then you'll love what you can do with this.
2) I've been using ths product for the last ten years and it just keeps getting better and better.
3) It supports about 50 different programming languages and you can add your own with very little effort.
4) You can launch any compiler you want directly from this product.
5) Language 'bracket' matching. This product will let you match BEGIN and END syntax in SQL! Of course, it does brackets, curly braces, etc.
6) v10 has Beyond Compare bundled right inside it. I personally like the integrated compare that's been there for the least ten years... so you have two great choices right at your fingertips.
7) Runs on Linux inside Crossover Office!
8) Absolutely love it!
Cons
1) doesn't do Unicode
2) doesn't do visual word wrap (only cr/lf wrap)

Pros
If you're working with PHP (say OScommerce) - Multi-Edit is the ONLY editor you should us. Check out header.php you'll see the layout is superb.
Cons
There is so much packed into this powerful programmers editor - that it takes a while to get to grips with all the functionality inside.

Pros
I like the possibility to enter new highlighted keywords for any type of extention. I used nedit, emac, vim, ultra-edit, ..., but non of these tools are so powerfull and easy to handle as the multi-edit. I recommend the tool by our customers.
Cons
It's not easy to transfer the DBase of all types of extentions (with keywords and settings) to an other person. When we design a new type of language and provide a color highlighting, it's not easy to just go with a file to our customers and install it with them.

Problem with disappearing russian letter with code 0xFF (Win1251) pain me and all russian users.

Pros
Multi-Edit is aptly named, I can open 1 file or 100 files. They can be ANY size. For analyzing Logs with the Collapse feature or writing code with custom formatting or on-the-fly keyboard macros, you can't beat it.
Cons
It's hard to find things not to like about Multi-Edit. The auto completing feature for language elements of a particular programming language can take some getting used to, and you're likely to be surprised at times until you get the hang of it.

"Solid editor and excellent support"

Pros
I do 90% of my code writing within MEW. The usability is excellent and I am always find new abilities with it. The user support forums are good and response is fast. They do listen to the user.
Cons
I work with very large files (record lengths of 16k+) or file sizes exceeding 4 GB's. MEW cannot handle this size. Solve these problems and I have nothing to complain about!
