This handy application securely deletes files to Department of Defense specifications, but neglects to inform users they must first turn off the Recycle Bin. During normal use Mst RealDelete displays only a system-tray icon, but the interface can display a dialog listing recently deleted files. Similar programs are invoked one file at a time, but Mst RealDelete intercepts all normal delete requests and eliminates files using one of three methods. Files deleted using the Fast method can be recovered by experts while the Secure method makes that recovery possible at great expense. Files deleted using the Maximum Security method are unrecoverable. You select which partitions to monitor, method of deletion, and leave RealDelete minimized to the system tray. The help file is accessible from the program menu; however, it doesn't mention that the Recycle Bin must be turned off to ensure complete file deletion. Despite minor flaws, this 15-day trial application is definitely a must-have for destroying sensitive data for both home and office.Publisher's description
From mst software :Security has a very important role nowadays. But a thing of a much higher importance is data security. A concern of data security is also the impossibility to regain already deleted sensitive corporate data. This is particularly interesting in cases when computers from security and secrecy depended areas have to be repaired by 3rd parties. Using mst RealDelete, it is possible for the first time to select partitions where deleted files will be really deleted, for ever.
No un-delete software will ever be able to regain data deleted by mst RealDelete. The special feature of mst RealDelete is simple: no need to do things by hand. Just define a partition mst RealDelete will be active on, from then all deleted files will be definitely erased by wiping - completely transparent. mst RealDelete integrates with the operating system, it can be used on server systems accessed from corporate networks.
