Music geeks of the globe, organize. mp3Tag lets you edit or add information to ID tags of MP3 music files, as well as to other digital-music files and save them to a database. You can edit the track title, artist, album, year, genre, and other details of your song, by either updating them from the Web or adding your own tags. Other file options include song duration, and the ability to encode, add album-cover pictures, or add other images and lyrics.
The program browses your hard drive for files and grabs the pertinent information automatically. You'll also find a functional but extremely basic media player. The interface isn't the most intuitive, but overall this is a solid program for keeping detailed records of music collections.
Publisher's description
(From ManiacTools ):Mp3Tag is a music tag editor for MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, MPC, AAC, WAV, FLAC, M4a, WavPack files with great features, like an automated search for lyrics/pictures, Amazon&FreeDB support that powers automatic tag filling option--works great for mp3 albums that come without tags and meaningless file names, like 01.mp3, 02.mp3... The program takes the track lengths and compares this information with FreeDB data to find the appropriate album to import tags from.
Version 5.9 updates lyrics engine.

Version: Mp3Tag 5.9
Pros: I use this software for several years now, and I should say that people at maniactools were always the first to introduce new features. The program is very flexible and can do really amazing things. I read very good reviews about other tag editors, but every time I tried the programs I found that they were simply not that powerful.

Version: Mp3Tag 5.9
Cons: Stone-age interface, stealing the name of an existing freeware program, cloning itself and search engine over-optimized web sites. That's all that these guys can do well.
Duplicate entry of exactly the same crap, site hosted on exactly the same server:
"1st MP3 Tag Editor"

Version: Mp3Tag 5.9
Pros: Easy to use, easy to get info from other databases other than the ones they provide, couple clicks here and there and you are done.
Cons: Not as many databases as there could be but it is easy to find more on there forums.

"Excellent tool to manage tags and rename music files"
Pros: Renaming files from tags and tagging from file and folder names are excellent. I love the ability to download album art and lyrics for many files at once. Manual editing is also much better and quicker than with other taggers.
Cons: The interface may look odd the first time you look at it, but after a while you realize that it is perfect.
Summary: It's one of my favorites, along with another program from ManiacTools, AudioConverter Studio. Great job!

Version: Mp3Tag 5.9
Pros: This program really has everything I ever need to edit tags of my music files and to rename them. If I need to change tags of two or more files I never do that manually.
Cons: I see some space for improvements, but I wouldn't say that something is bad about the program. It's simply a perfect tool.
