CNET Editors' review
Mozilla Firefox, formerly known as Firebird, has not quite become a fully stable product, but it does quite a few things other browser makers might want to take note of. Much like its predecessors, the latest update from the Mozilla project stays close to common users. Its clean and uncluttered interface houses only the most necessary features, with the option to easily add customized toolbars. Firefox claims to be lightning-fast in every way. In our preliminary findings and superficial comparison, we didn't notice dramatic acceleration, so we can't prove or dispute that claim. What we do know is that the more we use Firefox, the more we like it. As with all Mozilla browsers, it conforms well to standards, so pages from almost any site load and function properly. Tabbed browsing lets you set your home page as a group of tabs or open an entire folder of bookmarks in tabs. Firefox also seamlessly blocks unwelcome pop-up advertisements without requiring the download of any additional software. Disregarding the occasional stability problem, this browser suits both personal and professional use. Watch the CNET video review of Mozilla Firefox:Publisher's Description

"From a designers view."
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6
Pros
Granted, safari's interface is much prettier, it does funky things to webpages, as well as internet explorer for macintosh. Most people wont bother making everything compatible for safari as it's a negligible market share. Another thing, is that firefox is open source, so it allows for writing of many useful addons. You don't truly know firefox until you've browsed the extensions. If you're easily irked by people that have automatic music videos and flash loading while you're playing your mp3s, there's addons that block them until you allow them to load. You can also save your sessions, which comes insanely useful if your browser ever crashes. It's easily the best browser available, and I'm sure theres features available for every type of user.
Cons
Only thing to dislike is the interface graphics, they don't blend well with the general apple user interface.

"Life is 100% with Firefox"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6
Pros
I'm in love. Seriously. I'm a mac user always coming up against the arguement that safari is a pretty good browser, but they're just not comparable. Okay, so they both have tabs. And any browser these days has a google search bar. But this search bar is incredible: you can add almost any search engine to it and it's always there. So you're trying to find that movie you wanted? type it in once and search IMDB, Amazon, and google all at once. It's amazing. It saves so much time.
But it's the FIND feature that makes me woozy. It starts finding as you type: Type M and it finds all the Ms on the page. MO and it narrows your search to MO. MON, MONK, MONKE, and then it tells you when there are no monkeys available. It stays down at the bottom, so that when you flip to your other tabs, you don't have to redo the search: you know right away where the monkeys are. And aren't. It's fantastic.

"Super Fast, however I have to say the interface is pretty boring."
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6
Pros
Downloading Time isn't bad, It's faster than Safari
Cons
I found interface pretty boring and plain, It isn't an exciting view if you have to use it for work and stare at it for hours.

"I'll stick with Safari."
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6
Pros
Good interface, intuitive to use. Better than IE, but, no better than Safari.
Cons
I'm on dial-up and ran a few time tests wth Foxfire and Safari... Safari won all by wide margins--Safari generally took less than half the time of Foxfire to render a page.

"Why use Firefox when you have Safari?"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6
Pros
great browser alternative for WINDOWS USERS!
Cons
Safari blows this application away. Unless there is a very specific feature offered by Firefox, there is no reason to use it over Safari. Safari is faster, has the harked tab browser (which I personally detest and rarely ever use to be honest with you), is secure (can you really even measure browser security on Mac OS?), and in my humble opinion is just a much cleaner, more elegant browser. Firefox for Windows is a necessity... Firefox for Mac is superfluous.
