The final release of Mozilla Firefox offers enough features to make you rethink Internet Explorer. You can easily create toolbars by dragging and dropping icons. Live Bookmarks turn RSS feeds into something that acts like a bookmarks folder. You can type Google search queries right into the address bar or use the built-in search box. The program displays the page source in a new window, using indents and color-coded tags like an HTML editor. You can view your bookmarks or history in the Sidebar area, which lets you quickly revisit your favorite sites. Though the browser hides its advanced settings, you can still build modules using XML, CSS, JavaScript, and even C . The program includes such tools as a JavaScript debugger and a DOM viewer.
At 55MB for 25 windows, the browser uses fewer resources than Internet Explorer but more than Opera. The built-in pop-up blocker works better than Opera's, IE's, and those of most paid standalone utilities. However, the download manager is still underdeveloped. Though the final release version vastly improves stability, we noticed occasional reluctance to maximize in response to Alt Tab commands. People who want more security than IE provides should look at Mozilla Firefox.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4
Pros: Very customizable, has a lot of extensions and themes available for free download, a whole lot more secure than IE or any IE-based browser, a good pop-up blocker, and for free! Plug-ins are available for free too. Almost all pages support it, but not all as unforunately; browser discrimination STILL exists. It's very stable in this build too. So far it hasn't crashed on me. It's also very fast, but I still find Opera faster; even if I download lots of apps that claim that it can speed up Firefox. But this browser is excellent! Get it now!
Cons: Its download manager is not as advanced as Opera's download manager, but there are extensions to make it as good; if not better, than Opera's download manager; like iGet, Download Manager Tweak, and lots more.

Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4
"Customizable, Safe, Many Features, Fast"
Pros: - Customizable. You can pick and download over 1,000 extensions, themes, and plugins. For example, adblock and mouse gestures. Extensions and themes can be downloaded at update.mozilla.org
- Safe. This is obvious from the patches that Mozilla Firefox has made. No browser is perfectly safe. This is also true with firefox. However, firefox fixes these problems instantly.
- Features from default in firefox include tabbed browsing, pop-up blocker, and RSS reader to name a few.
- Mozilla Firefox is run on the Gecko engine making Firefox faster and more secure than IE and browsers running on the IE engine.
Cons: - Back and Forward is a bit slow, but still faster than Internet Explorer. However, this is fixed in v1.1
Note! The original firefox browser is made intentionally to have only basic features! One IS SUPPOSED TO download extensions and themes to customize the browser to your preference.
