CNET Editors' review
Movienizer is an intuitive database that allows users to keep track of their movie collections. Although it's similar to other programs we've seen, the fact that it's free sets it apart.
Movienizer's interface is simple and attractive, with its major functions organized in buttons and menus across the top. Like many similar programs, Movienizer can download movie information from 24 online resources in nine languages, or gather information from a DVD or text file. The program also has a loan-tracking feature, allowing users to keep track of who they lend their DVDs to, although it's lacking the separate database for borrowers that many other programs have. The program does allow users to create collections of people, such as actors or directors, as well as sort movies by actors, genres, and other categories. The program also has a built-in movie player, allowing users to view movies that are stored on their computers without opening a separate application. Most of the program's features were easy to use, although we found it difficult to switch between databases at first; this function is not completely intuitive. The program's built-in Help file is well written and did a good job of answering our questions. Overall, while there was nothing really exceptional about the program, we found it to be a perfectly adequate movie organizer, competitive with other programs that must be paid for.
Movienizer is free. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
Publisher's Description
From ManiacTools:
Love watching movies? Collected so many that you're getting lost among the many discs? Get your movies organized with Movienizer. Organize, track and research your movie collection easily with the powerful movie catalog tool. How many movies have you already collected? How many more are you going to get? Don't get lost in your growing collection. Catalog all your movies, track loaners and get recommendations with your personal movie organizer. Movienizer helps you account for all movies that you already have as well as those you wish you had. Tried other movie organizers or DVD catalogers? Bored with the poor presentation that only lists titles? Movienizer will change your world. Just add a movie to Movienizer-managed collection, and it'll download all information about that movie completely automatically. See immediately what the movie is about, what other people think about it, and yeah--see who is acting. A mouse click on an actor displays other movies with that actor.
No more boring text--only presentation. Download posters and pictures or make your own disc shots and frame snaps with the built-in DVD player. Rate your movies or download IMDB ratings, and get recommendations according to your taste and preferences. So why Movienizer is better than movie Web sites? Because it's your collection and your movies we're talking about. No Web site shows your movies, and your movies only, sorted or grouped by any attribute. Group your movies by director or by actor, sort by title or by genre, or create your own custom criteria to navigate through your collection as an ace. They're your movies from your collection, so why lose them if you loan a disc but forget who took it? Let Movienizer refresh your memory by allowing you to record who and when borrowed a movie whenever you decide to part with one temporarily.
What's new in this version: Version 5.1 build 260 adds a new feature in the movie organizer to create movie covers for Google TV. Parts of media_url can now be replaced using custom patterns when creating a movie catalog for Dune media players.

"Finally with mass update!"
Version: Movienizer 5.1 build 260
Pros
Just installed the new version and it's awesome! The nice new look is good, but what I mostly appreciate is the mass update feature. I've been waiting for it since maybe Movienizer 3.0. Many thanks!
Cons
None, Movienizer IS the best.
