"easy to use and fast"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 7.7
Pros
did what i want and of course more than the free version.
Cons
none has been found
Summary
i tried the free version at first and i found it a good software then i bought the paid version.
-
"Clean interface, ultra easy to use, fast"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 7.7
Pros
7.7 is not much of an upgrade but 7.5 was pretty good anyway. Since this is a disk utility is it easy to screw up your main drive, but program allows you to check everything over before initializing any changes.
Cons
None, does what it says. A little pricey since Windows 7 does most of this stuff anyway but I have been using it mainly for setting up new drives using the MT boot disk. (which you can't do with Win7)

"Useful tool"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 7.1
Pros
Does what it says it does. Includes Linux partition formats.
Cons
None that I'm aware of - but I haven't used it much.
Summary
Well worth giving a try.
-
"Worth what I paid for it"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 7.0
Pros
Did what I needed once.
Cons
Everything else.
Summary
I used it to remove an old Ubuntu partition on my C drive that Windows XP couldn't remove on its own, then tried to reinstall Ubuntu on my other hard drive. I got rid of the old C partition easily enough and extended C back to its full capacity of 500GB. When I tried to do the same with my D drive (Ubuntu having proved worthless), I could no longer access the functions that let me recover the C partition. No more resizing, merging, or anything. A one-shot wonder which, as I said, is worth what I paid for it: nothing.
Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that while I was trying to scan my D drive with this program--which I was doing as I wrote the previous review--it locked up my D drive, caused Windows to lose it (can't even find it under My Computer or Control Panel) and it caused the loss of all my data. Good job, guys! The product page also says you can merge partitions in the freeware version. You can't. You're also supposed to move or resize them in the free home version. Can't do that, either. Don't bother downloading it. It's not what it's advertised to be and you run the risk of ruining your system.

"Licensed version functions well."
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 7.0
Pros
Able to convert dynamic disks to basic (that was my main reason for buying it). GUI is nice and easy to use. Operations seem to work without problems.
Cons
Most of the functions are available in free software as well. Many can be handled by Windows7 itself.
-
"Not free, not functional"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 7.0
Pros
None. Couldn't perform basic operations
Cons
Claims to be a free program but after installing it it claims itself a demo. Because of this is also claims to not be able to peform "batch operations", even though I only ordered a resize operation.
Summary
It did not execute any function I ordered it.
Windows XP, attempting to deal with large FAT32 partitions. -
"Works well with NTFS - Not so well otherwise"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 6.0
Pros
Does what it says it will do.
Cons
I had a disk w/ Ubuntu on it and I wanted to partition for dual boot. I had to create a full partition an NTFS first; then I could run this program and split the partition and then I had to format the "other" partition for Ubuntu.
Summary
I have used Partition Magic before and found it easier to use than this program . However, this program was free. So, a few extra steps, while annoying, was worth the price of admission.

"Average program, but BE AWARE!"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 5.2
Pros
does (almost) what it says. Nice clean UI.
Cons
I merged two partitions, and it messed up my harddrive. It still works though, but now my hdd wont stop loading - god knows what it's loading? - I predict the death of my hdd soon. My advice is to stay away from the merge part.
Summary
Simple nice UI. But i think there are better alternatives. STAY AWAY FROM THE MERGE FEATURE!!
Just realized that it switched my partions on my two harddrives. So to be fair, this is actually a fine tool.

"In bad need of User's Guide!"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 5.0
Pros
Haven't used enough to know.
Cons
Change Cluster Size in Windows 7 failed. During reboot, 'couldn't install because partition needed to be defragmented first'. Defragmented, next reboot, can't change cluster size, not compatible with NTFS compressed data'. How to solve this, nadda?
Summary
The error messages flashed on and off the screen so fast during reboot that you couldn't write them down. No help on the internet or a user's guide as to how to solve problems when they occur.
I got this program for the sole purpose of being able to change cluster size in Windows 7 and it doesn't tell you what to do the fix the issue.
As far as I'm concerned it can't change the cluster size as advertised.
Take a pass on this producrt!

"Excellent programme!"
Version: MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition 5.0
Pros
1) Easy to use(and I'm a relative novice)
2) It's FREE
3) tech. Support- BRILLIANTCons
Have not yet had any problems.
Summary
I have used this programme 2/3 times over the past 12mths.and then it was totally free( donations were not even requested), and the technical support was the best I have ever received, so I asked if I could make a donation. They reluctantly agreed.
My initial problem was in trying to partition my C;\ drive. If you have a Ext. HD then disconnect it whilst partitioning C;\ drive.
Tech Support were answering my e-mails virtually within minutes
