Though MemoriesOnTV suffers from a few interface quirks, creating a DVD slide show packed with special effects is a walk in the park. The software divides each task, such as importing images and music, adding effects, and creating DVD menus, into separate screens. Time-saving tools, such as image- and scene-transition editors, are cleverly presented only as they're needed in the authoring process. The software's extremely linear interface can make single-slide and transition design a cumbersome process, however. Customization for DVD menus also is limited, allowing little more than power over background and chapter images. Even with the limited control, however, the end result is impressive. With a few minutes of work, you'll have an eye-catching slide show that will run on nearly any DVD player.Publisher's description
From CodeJam :MemoriesOnTV allows you to create a VideoCD or DVD with visual effects and music from your digital photos and video clips. It has true DVD authoring; the video you create can be burned onto CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, or DVD+R/RW using the built-in burner software and then played on a TV via a standard DVD player. You also can play the CD or DVD on a PC with a software DVD player installed. You can add text to your pictures, organize them into multiple albums (or subalbums), use pan and zoom functionality, and create a menu to navigate your albums. The original pictures or videos also can be stored on the same CD or DVD, so you can access them for printing at any time.
Version 2.1.8 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: MemoriesOnTV 2.1.8
"Great Program, but had problems burning"
Pros: I liked the features for creating the video from photos and sound files. The program was easy to figure out, and did what I wanted.
Cons: I tried out the evaluation copy extensively before purchasing, but NOT ENOUGH. I didn't actually BURN a DVD because I figured it was a waste of time to burn a DVD that had "evaluation copy" smacked across the faces of everyone in my pictures. Well, that was a mistake. Everything worked well (well, almost everything) until I tried to burn a DVD. Then, freeze ups, crashes, etc.
So, my advice: try it out COMPLETELY, including burning several DVDs before you buy. Oh, and if you are burning DVDs, you need the MPEG plug-in thingy too... something I didn't get at first.
Finally, one nit: the page for adding text needs some work. If you select the tool for "moving around text", then you can't go back to adding text or changing fonts or colors without exiting that page, and reentering it. Annoying, but you can work around it.

Version: MemoriesOnTV 2.1.8
"Great for Most Folks - Easy to Use"
Pros: Fast to use (ability to load 50 photos and it it work it's magic within 5 minutes), MemoriesonTV almost does it all, fades, pans, titling and add music or narration. Output to CD-Rs or DVD.
Cons: It's simplicity is also it's downfall, for you cannot add 2 audio tracks (music and narration). You could work around this by pre-recording all of the audio then laying in, but why do that? Try the evaluation 1st.

"Simply the best at the moment in this category !!!"
Pros: Fast, Easy to use and simple configuration needed. No special tricks to get excellent results. This is the sure thing for VCD, SVCD, and DVD etc. I had to drop CompuPic Pro and ACDSee for this wonderful program. Buy and use the program... you won't regret it.
Cons: Just like one user has mentioned, there is no way you can edit the text you just created under the text frame without exiting and re-entering the text modus. I believe this is a bug that needs to be fixed real quickly.

"Works as advertised and with patience will let you control everything."
Pros: I have put together slide shows of 50 or more pictures using the defaults for all settings in just minutes and burned them to a VCD. Love the Ed Burns effects in Panning and Zooming, you have total control of each picture you want control of.
Cons: Not being able to fast forward in preview mode.
