Publisher's description

Melody Assistant is a music composition and score editor with audio playback capabilities. The program's digital sound-editing features let you record custom sounds from your CD player or microphone. The included digital-instrument database can be assigned to play back your compositions. Melody Assistant is compatible with MOD, MIDI, KAR, SGU, AIFF, WAV, BMP, and other sound files. Previous versions added improved ABC format, the ability to align staves both right and left while printing, the option to save files in a compressed format, and the ability to print braces and brackets to group staves. The previous version added the ability to add digital audio tracks recorded from a CD, microphone, or imported from an audio file (MP3, WAV, AIFF) to your documents. You can also input MIDI from your MIDI keyboard in real time while playing music, import and export MP3 files, and much more. To check out all of the new features click here. Version 5.5.3 adds an editable chord line related to a staff, editable Harmonica tablatures, custom staff lines, and some miscellaneous tools.

Note: The unregistered version limits exporting to eight seconds, has a watermark on printed documents, an alert when working on long pieces, and it is not possible to change the piece key or time signature. The cost to register is $15.
