This Internet Explorer add-on is a perfect example of why too much is not always a good thing, especially when principal features don't work.
Megarock Radio Toolbar places an additional toolbar on top of your browser window and lets you use eBay, Shopping.com, and other sites for search inquiries. Like other free toolbars, it comes preloaded with e-mail notification, weather forecasts, a pop-up blocker, browser and search history cleaners, and toolbar-customization options, all of which performed well during our tests. Fast-access buttons let you launch the publisher's main page and visit Megarock's chat and forum sites. You can search for user profiles in Megarock's community and read the latest RSS newsfeeds.
There's also a feature for requesting songs in Megarock, but the page was consistently unavailable during our tests. The problems continue with the radio itself. During our initial tests, the radio failed to connect to preset stations. We were able to get the presets to work eventually, but some of the stations loaded very slowly. The program wasn't ever able to connect to the stations we added manually.
Although Megarock Radio Toolbar is free, its spotty performance makes this IE add-on less than a bargain.
