Meep Media Downloader 1.4 is an incredibly useful program that allows users to download both audio and video from streaming video sites like YouTube. Compatible with Firefox and Internet Explorer, this easy-to-use toolbar is a great way to quickly save online content.
The program's interface is quite intuitive, although it consumes a bit more space than it really needs to. Downloading content is as easy as clicking on Save MP3 or Save Video. The program quickly saves the desired files in the location specified by you, with video files saved in the AVI format. Both audio and videos files are of fairly good quality compared with the originals, although the audio downloads obviously won't compare to the quality you'd get from a CD or legitimate MP3 download. It's still much better than nothing, especially when you come across songs that aren't readily available elsewhere. The program supports downloads from YouTube, MegaVideo, DailyMotion, and MySpace, as well as a handful of adult sites, and it worked just fine with all of the sites we tried it with. Although you can go directly to the videos you wish to download, the program also includes a search feature and a drop-down menu showing the most popular downloads. The program's online Help file is brief but adequate. Overall, we found Meep Media Downloader 1.4 to be a great way to grab online content with very little hassle.

The free version has a limit of four downloads per site; this is reasonable perhaps, but I did not see any notice of this in the promotional materials. The price seems a bit high considering, but I needed a reliable downloader so I purchased it.
Summary
I might recommend it, although I think the price is too high considering what the product actually does. Compared to other types of applications with more sophisticated functions for the same price it ranks among the most expensive software I have purchased.
After paying $19.99 for the one-year version, I am skeptical that I would renew this. -

If you want one or two videos off the web then this is a great program. However, if you want to download many you can only buy a subscription. Pretty much the old bait and switch here. Meep is nothing more than a ploy to get you to spend money on subscribing to their program.
