Publisher's description of MediaMonkey 2.5.2.951
From Ventis Media:MediaMonkey is a music manager and jukebox for serious music collectors and iPod users. It catalogs your CDs, OGG, WMA, MPC, FLAC, APE, WAV and MP3 audio files. It offers an intelligent tag editor which looks up missing Album Art and track information via Freedb and the web, and an automated file and directory renamer to organize your music library. It includes a CD ripper, CD/DVD Burner, and audio converter for saving music, and manual or automated playlist editors for creating music mixes. Its player automatically adjusts volume levels so that you don't have continually fiddle with the volume control and supports hundreds of Winamp plug-ins and visualizations; or if you prefer, it can use Winamp as the default player. It also includes portable audio device synchronization that allows you to quickly synch tracks and playlists with iPods and other portable audio devices.
Version 2.5.2.951 adds about 70 improvements and fixes including much improved synchronization for iPods (including copying iPod content back to a PC), 'Plays for Sure' devices, and the Sony Ericsson W800i Walkman phone, improved CD/DVD Burning, and updated codecs.

Despite a glut of free player/encoders, it's tough to find one that meets our expectations. Formerly known as Sound DB, MediaMonkey has excellent library-management tools that keep the largest digital music collections well organized. Stir that up with integrated CD and DVD burning, a stellar interface, a full-featured encoder, and the ability to sync with portable audio devices such as the iPod, and you have a pretty compelling product.
Upon first launch, the program scans your drive for supported digital media files to add to the library. Files are sorted based on their ID3 tags, and the helpful Auto-Rename and Auto-Tag From Filename features keep untagged tracks from falling through the cracks. Party mode locks down your library while still allowing people to request songs. Auto DJ plays selections from your library even when there are no requests in the queue. Third-party plug-ins are available from the site if you want to tinker with the playback and encoding engine or add additional sound-processing effects. The interface is well designed, with clean, colorful icons throughout.
Considering the overall polish of this application, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything you don't like. Although it's definitely geared toward managing extensive collections, just about anyone will appreciate the comprehensive feature set. For $20, MediaMonkey Gold adds advanced features such as sleep, scripting, previewing, and on-the-fly file conversion when syncing with a portable device.

Version: MediaMonkey 2.5.2.951
"epitome of superb-software!!"
Pros: It's got everything you would expect even in your wildest dreams. I was looking for an mp3 converter when i stumbled upon this software. At first,i thought it was only used for tagging all the songs, but i realised that it triples up as an media player-***-mp3 converter-song database manager. Now we will discuss about each one of this features in a little detail.
The media player has got the features of every modern player you would find on the internet,it is complete with an equalizer with a whole lot of presets and plays all the available formats(including ogg and flac) unlike for the windows media player where you have to download a separate codec from oggvorbis.com.
The mp3 converter is something worth mentioning here as it can convert from various bitrates(8 kbps to 32 kbps) and converts between the 5 popular formats(wma,mp3,ogg,flac,wav),the sound quality is also notable.
Now coming to the most desirable feature, the song tagger and database manager. After installing the software it asks for the option of searching the computer for songs. It brings to its database manager all music files which you had dumped somewhere and forgot about it.It has an option to tag files and it also shows the files in individual directories like (album-not tagged,artist-not tagged,title-not tagged) and so on. The most interesting feature i found out in this software is auto-sleep.You can set a particular(time) or number of songs you want to hear and after the software plays this songs it automatically turns off the computer.A really useful thing,if you want to listen to songs and doze off into a deep sleep.
But one thing kept me wondering. They offered these many features for FREE!!!!! wonder what they would offer in the paid version?????
Cons: nope!!

Version: MediaMonkey 2.5.2.951
Pros: For music lovers, this is the finest product ever created. I lost hundreds of songs/music which exist in nowhere and viruses destroyed all my data. BUT media monkey retrieved each and every clip which I thought I'd never get. You don't require support as the software is SELF SUPPORTING. NO Hassles about stupid activations or getting new license keys after a disk format. Media Monkey is UNREAL and too good for words.
Cons: NO CONS!

Version: MediaMonkey 2.5.2.951
Pros: Good for organizing a music collection. The best program I've seen for editing information stored in an mp3 file. If you've had trouble with gibberish coming up when you load an mp3 file into an mp3 player, you can use MediaMonkey to edit the information, which will get rid of the gibberish. (Unless this has happened to you, you don't know what I mean!)
MediaMonkey makes a great shuffle player for a large music collection. You won't get the same song twice. It uses suprising little system resources for such an elaborate program.
Cons: Rescanning the music library is a little awkward. I always have to hunt around a minute for the right menu commands. But maybe I'm just dense.

Version: MediaMonkey 2.5.2.951
Pros: Apple Users have iTunes, and Windows users have MediaMonkey. Really great at organizing music, rating, categorizing, and organizing files. Easy interface and lots of features. Even auto-tag ID3 tags for your MP3's! Also plays streaming internet radio.
Cons: Nothing really. The interface is a bit clunky. You can rearrange everything, but alternative placements of playlist, file list, player, album art, etc., seems out of sorts. Default is best. Comes with 3 skins, two Windows-style "Luna" skins which are too blue. The "Brushed" Apple-style skin makes up for this though. A paid version of the software, MediaMonkey Gold, which offers a few non-essiental features. Why bother?

Version: MediaMonkey 2.5.2.951
Pros: The best mediaplayer i have tried ever! MediaMonkey loads fast and dont occupy a lots of RAM. I have never got a failure message (I have used MediaMonkey every day for approxemately one year). Autotag from Amazon & FreeDB is so sweet. MediaMonkey downloads info for albums as: albumart, label, release year, artists, tracknumbers, titels, ect. It is very easy to edit titels, etc. in the libary using F2 or "Properties" function. You can also copy and manage tracks using keyboard shortcuts as Ctrl + C. Very cool build in scripts as "Swap Artist and Titel" makes MediaMonkey even more useful to manage music. Good libary customization. I like the colub "Album Artist" (wich you can customize/select) wich is good for compilications. For example if you have an album with various artists, then you can sort the album by Album Artist = Various Artists and then in the coulumb called "Artist" you can specify the artist for every track. (It is difficult to explaine - but it is very useful when you find out). Supports synchronization to various mp3-players (iPod, etc...). MediaMonkey can manage thousands of tracks without any problems! :-) .
I'd tell you again: "MediaMonkey is the best mediaplayer I have tried ever!". It beats iTunes, Windows Media Player, WinAmp, etc... I have tried many media players but MediaMonkey is absolute the best!
Cons: The default interface is not the coolest, but it can be customised. You have to pay for some functions (but actually you dont really need them)
