Media Inspector for Mac

Publisher's Description

From Diego Massanti:

Media Inspector is the definitive tool for the analysis and reporting of audio and video files of any kind, and in any type of container.
Ever wondered why the quality on that movie file is so impressive ? You can now "reverse engineer" it and see the exact parameters used to encode it and print, save or share reports online.
Media Inspector runs as a systemwide service, allowing you to analyze files on demand with just a single click and integrates with the Mac OS X Finder, adding a contextual menu item for quick file analysis.

What's new in this version:

Mac OSX Lion bug fixes.

** Fixes an issue affecting Mac OS X Lion users which was preventing the application to correctly export text reports.

    "Very very simple but spectacular"

    May 27, 2010  |   By Swift2

    Version: Media Inspector 0.7.33.0

    Pros

For anybody who does transcoding, etc., this is a godsend. I had used this on Windows, and was amazed to see it available on the Mac. It does one thing, and it does that instantly: tells you exactly how this video is set up.

    Cons

None. How could it have a negative?

    Summary

If you're trying to transcode your video just like the other, this tells you exactly how to set up to do it. If the movie won't play, or won't play audio, this shows you why. Very, very simple, but it lets you peek into any video and tell you what you need.

Ignore the comments by the idiot below, this app is not calling any spam URL and is fully clean of any strange code.

Feel free to try it with a firewall (like i did) and see that the only URL that it calls is the one to check for updates (which you can disable if you want).

MediaInfo Mac uses the mediainfo library written by Jerome Martinez.
