CNET Editors' review
You won't have to look farther than this app's name to understand what it does, although it doesn't quite accomplish what it promises. MeasureIt is a free Firefox add-on that lets you draw a box around Web page objects or areas and measure them in pixels. The interface consists of a single button, and using the tool is as simple as clicking it.
Once you "draw" the box using your mouse, the width and height are displayed in a small field to the right. The box has markers similar to a ruler. You'll still need to manually note the size of any items you check. You can't save the data and you can only create one box at a time.
You should note the publisher's description lists some features like multiple measurement boxes and changing measurement units, but they're unavailable. Also, the program's Options button (in Firefox's add-on menu) is grayed out. A trip to the publisher's Web site clarifies that these are actually future improvements.
It doesn't yet do all it promises to accomplish. However, if you need this type of functionality, this freeware can easily help you get the pixel width and height of objects or areas on a Web page.
