Even the most advanced antispyware security can't guarantee your computer's safety, because most programs scan your site for digital nasties after they've already taken root. This ingenious Firefox extension warns you about covert spyware and browser-hijack attempts as you visit a site.
SiteAdvisor operates as an unobtrusive signal in your browser interface, turning green if the site is safe, yellow if it's suspect, and red if it senses threats or annoyances. The same coding system applies to Yahoo and Google search results, inserting a red, yellow, or green icon next to each link. Clicking these icons provides full diagnostics of the sites' threats, including links to other suspect sites, high spam counts, and the number of dangerous downloads.
We also liked the URL highlighter, which displays site rankings directly from your search engine, helping deflect drive-by installs that may initiate as soon as you type a URL. In our tests, SiteAdvisor turned out accurate and reliable results, and though it doesn't have a wide array of features, we urge any regular Firefox user to try this no-cost extension.

"It is great! Thank You McAfee!"
Pros: This is a great program. While you are surfing it informs you which sites are good and which are bad. It works perfectly. You should get it. Do not help the bad guys! Let them loose! Bjorn Lundahl, Gothenburg, Sweden

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox
"Another Outstanding tool from McAfee."
Pros: Like I said about the SiteAdvisor for IE, this program has huge advantages for such a small file. Ranging from green (Safe), yellow (Caution), red (Dangerous). If you can understand a stop light this is a must have. McAfee went as far as to put emails into sites to measure spam, reporting how many emails they recieved a week from the site and how spamy they were, even adding small icons in your google and yahoo search results to help choose which sites are for you. Defiently a good way to kick it up a notch for the novice to advanced user.

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox
"Perfect for the Best Browser Around"
Pros: Not only does this have the McAfee name on it already, it is a great extension to Firefox, making it secure and more user friendly then ever before. Download this now, for your safety and browsing enjoyment to make sure you don't go to any bad webpages.
Cons: I see nothing wrong with this app except some sites don't come up as listed good or bad yet. With future updates, this will be fixed.

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox
Pros: It is still a great extension, although it seems to maintain the same problems as the first.
SiteAdvisor is still clear and easy to understand, green for good and red for bad.
Doesn't affect your browser in any noticable way either.
Cons: Watch how you look at the results, they seem to only scan the downloads that are submitted by users (not sure on that.)
On a more personal note i'm kinda depressed to see SiteAdvisor swallowed up by Mcafee.
