This free Firefox plug-in offers access to online radio stations and the latest news, along with a few extras, though the upgrade boasted pulls a Houdini act on many of its features. Compatible with the latest versions of Firefox, Mazag Toolbar for Firefox offers quick access to eBay, Shopping.com, and Google-powered searches with keyword highlights on search results.
A variety of welcome extras--including privacy cleaners; a weather display; e-mail alerts for Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, and POP3 accounts; chat; and a news ticker--all delivered great results. Mazag Toolbar for Firefox even displayed the page ranking of the sites we browsed, but this feature is oddly disabled when the privacy-tools feature is activated.
A free program upgrade is conspicuously available upon installation and is required to activate the built-in radio. However, once upgraded, many of the built-in components that were once present didn't reappear on the toolbar. Further investigation from Firefox's add-on menu option proved they had simply vanished. While there's enough here to make it a decent pick for regular Firefox users, functionality conflicts and upgrade issues are definite causes for concern.
