Summary
I'd purchased the software and there was a limit on the number of installations. Since I have had to re-image my computer and have a different laptop, I am no longer able to use the software and I'm stuck. Software itself wasn't bad, but only if you can use it (after it's been paid for)

Easy to add players, mark substitutes. For a fee, can export stats.
Cons
MAJOR FLAW: We were never able to make a purchase. Even the "Purchase MasterStat" link in the program is unusable. Web search proved fruitless as well. The look of the screen is ugly. Buttons not organized well. Can't easily do opponent's stats.
Summary
If you can't use the program beyond 30 days, because the purchase links (whether in the program or at other download sites) are unusable, what good is the program? Of the eight viable programs available online to collect stats for a high school basketball program, MasterStats came the closest to meeting our needs (i.e., collecting a basic # of stats accurately under pressure during a game). Unlike Swoosh!, we could add players after a game was created and didn't have to go to a different screen to add substitutes. We could also export those stats to Excel or something else. One of the eight software package was so complicated (poorly organized) and had so many pop-ups with lengthy explanations for why we couldn't do something we were attempting to do that even our coach couldn't follow it. We knew that under pressure the stat keeper would not be able to give us what we wanted. After evaluating every stat program we could find online that seemed remotely relevant for our needs, we are convinced there isn't anything currently available on the market of the quality we're looking for. We would love to have a program so simple, we could put a novice stat-taker down in front of the screen and be successful. Currently, that is not possible. We're now going to try to pull together the heads of a seasoned basketball coach (for his basketball and stat collecting experience), a technical writer (to help incorporate keystroke efficiency and ease of use) and an expert programmer with software development experience to make our own. This is the kind of collaboration that should have gone into these packages before they went to market. Sadly, it is very apparent with all of this software that this did not happen.
