A snap to use and impressive in its simplicity, this free Firefox add-on lets you highlight any address found on a Web site and call up a Yahoo map for it. Map doesn't create a toolbar icon or have its own interface, but it's very easy to use.
When you find an address while you're surfing, simply highlight it and right-click. There's a new option to view the address on a map. You won't see this context menu option unless you've selected an address. A Yahoo map opens in a small window, showing you the location of the address. It's fast and easy and you don't need to type anything to get to the map.
As with most Firefox add-ons, this one is freeware. If you want a quick way to see where on the map online addresses are located, Map gets the job done and anyone can use it.
View a map of a selected address in Firefox without changing windows or tabs using the right click command. The maps are generated in an iframe window using the Yahoo API. Aspects of the map display are customizable, including the window location, height, and width. A custom address field is available for driving directions.
