Protects your computer from potential threats, but results may take some time. Malware Sweeper Free's visually pleasing interface practically guides you through its processes. With its investigative capabilities, the program sniffs out Trojan horses, spyware, adware, and others of their ilk that similar software can't find. It removes or quarantines the infected items found, and you can opt to schedule scanning operations daily, weekly, or monthly. System shields run covertly in the background, alerting you of threatening pestware found. The program's deep-scan function justifiably works at a snail's pace given that it's scanning all of the memory, registry items, and file folders on your PC. This application is free, but management tools like its Startup Manager, BHO Manager, and IE Toolbar Manager are restricted from use until registration. Anyone weary of spyware and the like will find that Malware Sweeper Free delivers a powerful punch.

Scans memory, registry, drives for known parasites and scum-ware components and lets you remove them from your PC. Removes Bundled spyware components from Kazaa, Morpheus, audiogalaxy, grokster, Limewire, Imesh, Gnutella and more than 1,000 other programs. SpyWare apps, often installed without your knowledge, send information about your surfing habits to ad companies, which, in turn, send you more pop-up ads.
Features include automatic update system that keeps your level of protection up to date, System Shields run in the background, alerts will fire if any of the shields catches malware. Manage list of ignored or quarantined malware by adding/removing from them. Spyware scanning engine has built-in smart-search capabilities that catch new spyware components. Version 2.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: Malware Sweeper Free 2.2
Pros: The interface is easy to use and has a fairly scan.
Cons: After the scan has finished it detects legitimate operating system files as being dangerous and should be removed. These are false positive detections and if they are removed it will damage my computer.

Cons: This has had found the most false positives ever on my pc.I looked closely and it wanted to delete some system restore files.Thats was enough for me.I hate false positives with cr*pware like this!!!!!!

Pros: Fast scan. Finds surprising amount of problems.
Cons: I suspect false positives. Also, the update process is a little strange as it appears to check program updates but no signature updates. ID'd Ashampoo Burning Suite update.exe as a trojan, Ad-Aware 2007 as a problem because they don't like the company, and some other solid programs as needing removal. I don't trust it and am removing.

Pros: THIS app does not have much to like about it.
Cons: I believe this in not legit and is full of false positives to rope people into buying there pro version or something.......i just don't trust it!!!
