CNET editors' review

This is a very handy freeware macro maker that suffers from an unfortunate error. MacroMaker's complex interface really isn't that difficult to master. It's logically designed and included most options intermediate to advanced users would want in a macro editor. This isn't a program for the novice user, as there isn't extreme error checking of constructed macros.
MacroMaker expects some application knowledge and rewards users with a flexible macro construction interface. Most users will find themselves easily building complicated macros right from the start. Adding commands is a mere matter of clicking buttons or using well-labeled pull-down menus. You can easily set your macro to invoke by hot key, word or phrase, or on a user-selected schedule. We wish the Recording function was as robust. The program does make it easy to record your keyboard presses and mouse movements. You can simply record both, or even select one or the other. However, our testers suffered a program-stopping error every time they tried editing a saved recorded macro.
Though we wouldn't recommend the recording feature, the rest of MacroMaker is a robust and flexible macro creator. Experienced users looking for a simple, freeware macro tool should definitely give this program a test.
Publisher's description
From Anthony Mathews :MacroMaker allows you to create macros or recordings to automate most anything that you already do by hand. MacroMaker was written more for the use of people who regularly use computers and programmers rather than the casual PC user. Most anything you know how to do by hand can be translated into a macro or recording in MacroMaker. If you are having to perform repetitive tasks, this program will help you out tremendiously. The user can simulate a series of keystrokes, mouse events, play back previous recordings of keystrokes and mouse events or execute some built-in functions with just a keystroke. You can even store content from the clipboard in internal MacroMaker buffers for later use.

Version: MacroMaker 2.0.0.4
Pros: I've used this program for about three years on an XP Media Center PC. Why CNET editors have not reviewed this program and given it the highest rating is beyond me. I use this program to open a series of programs that I don't want to load at startup. This program has operated flawlessly with no problems. It may seem intimidating at first, but it really is simple to setup and operate. Small, Free and I keep finding new uses for it. Kudos to Anthony and thanks.
Cons: Not a thing.
