MM3-WebAssistant Private

Publisher's Description

From MM3Tools Muenzenberger:

The Offline Browser is a personal proxy server sitting behind your browser (Firefox, IE, Opera), silently and speedily handling all the network traffic. Unlike most offline browsers with this concept, you don't have to specifically tell WebAssistant to capture a website - it remembers everything you see, automatically adding new pages to the cache. WebAssistant updates your cached pages (in the background) so you've always got the latest version to hand. There's no difference between surfing the web and surfing your archive; you can even use your bookmarks or search your pages offline when you don't have a network connection.

<

MM3-WebAssistant Private is in the Offline Browsers category of the Browsers section.

What's new in this version: Version 2007 offers the functions for archiving by surfing with an optimized user interface, adds checking the proxy configuration in the browser, features customization to Mozilla / Firefox and Opera, improved HTML parser, fixes some bugs in HTTP and FTP protocol.

"Very useful if you can't get online all the time"

    April 5, 2011  |   By Jacqueline Goodison

    Version: MM3-WebAssistant Private 2007

    Pros

I've actually had this on my computer for over a year now. When I had to go out to get wifi, I could just put this program on, browse the pages I wanted, and then go back home and retrieve every page I went on. Very trustful and reliable.

    Cons

I felt the help files could have been better, and all help files were not available offline. Also, I think there's "ease of use" tweaks they could do.

    Summary

This was a great program. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I didn't care for the help files and I found it awkward to get used to using it, but glad I took the time. I even tried the professional version which was so much better, and I will most likely be buying that version in the future because of its search capabilities. In the free version you can't search for keywords throughout the pages you've browsed, but in the paid version you can and that was very useful. This is definitely worth downloading, and it uses very little resources.

    Pros

Very efficient. Downloads all links and translates for offline browsing.

    Cons

Offline browsing withing the software interface needs to be improved. Download link window cannot be resized.

    Summary

I have purchased and used offline browsers, WebSite Downloader can beet them handsdown.
    Thanks
