The knife-wielding chefs at Benihana have nothing on you. Meda MP3 Splitter is a sharp and accurate tool for chopping MP3 files into smaller parts. Meda MP3 Splitter not only makes the process of splitting music files easy, it also offers basic merging and conversion tools for MP3s. Similar to many other programs, Meda MP3 Splitter displays MP3s as audio waveforms. Cutting a file into its component parts (or as many parts as you like) isn't challenging--simply click the Add Cut Points icon at the desired positions along the waveform or have the program parse the file and automatically insert cut points between songs. Although you can't do precision work, more advanced users may have better luck using the text-based Cut Point Editor to tweak any accidental splits. For those concerned with aesthetics, the program allows you to change the color of the waveform and cut points, as well as the background. During testing, we were happy with the speed of the MP3 to WAV converter, but wished it could convert from WAV to MP3. The program's tool for joining multiple MP3 files together in one file worked flawlessly. Meda MP3 Splitter could go from great to super if it also included the option to save split song sections in another format besides MP3. Overall, this is one sharp tool you'll want in your musical shed.
