This tiny freeware utility checks the validity of downloaded files by quickly comparing the files to previously generated checksums, though it can't check complete folders. With MD5 Checker's ultrasimple interface, you can easily browse for files to validate, or generate MD5 checksums. Using the program is merely a matter of pointing the program to the file of your download. The program rapidly computes the checksum of a file and quickly compares that value to the expected checksum. The program clearly indicates checksum values as matched or mismatched. However, MD5 Checker works only with files and can't check a folder of files with a single click. Even so, software developers who download from services that include checksum files will want this freeware application in their toolboxes.Publisher's description
From TSoft :MD5 Checker 2.31 - 18th February 2007. Utility to verify downloads with an MD5 checksum from the makers of MidWavi Pro (it's only 100K and this is a true Windows program). Tiny (100K unzipped) full Windows program to verify (and create) MD5 checksums (that is, where an MD5 code is given for a download file, using this software, if the codes match, the download is good). You can also create your own MD5 checksum if required.

Pros: It is a fully functioning stand alone md5 checker. It lets you make your own md5 sum or compare an existing code to a file. Does no more or less that what it claims.
Cons: crashes when you switch files after comparing md5 (ie: check md5 of linux iso X, and switch files to check md5 of download Y)

Pros: Very small size. Runs without installing and freeware.
Cons: None that I detected in my limited use of the program.

Cons: as said before no folder checks (however that's a minor disability compared to its overall value)
Summary: Its simple to use, and offers a powerful freeware sub to any MD5 hash checksum checker.... great results

Pros: it's just a good md5 checksum verification program. does nothing more nothing less
Cons: an odd quirk is that you have to copy the known md5 from the iso before you open the program, as it reads it straight out of the clipboard
Summary: i like it... free, fast, simple... stable, and does what it's supposed to do... now only if winblows lived up to that standard.....
