Publisher's description
From Kirk Hedden :Lord of the Deck is a card and deck management program for the Magic: the Gathering card game. With this latest version (4.0), it has been rewritten using the Java programming language, enabling it to run on most modern computing platforms. The current build has only been compiled for the Mac OS X operating system. Linux and Windows builds will appear in time. Since this version of Lord of the Deck relies heavily on the Java 2 language, it will not run on the 'Classic' Mac OS (i.e. OS 9) since that OS does not support Java 2.

Version: Lord Of The Deck 4.0
"Great program, but don't get it from download.com!"
Pros: Warning: Download.com's version is old and does not have some of the more recent sets. Click on the publisher's name to go to their site so you can download the newest version.
As to the good stuff: It lists all the Magic cards, what they do, their casting cost, and lets you search for them. Plus, it's free! What's NOT to like about that?
Some users have complained about how it wouldn't install. Well, let's see...it's a MAC product? Let me see if I have this right. They're complaining that a product that's made for Macintosh doesn't work on something other than Macintosh? Uh, hello? Seems like a silly reason to complain about a product. Might as well buy a GameCube game and complain about how it doesn't work on your Playstation2.
Cons: Although I certainly can't blame the person who made this for this, what a card does is only listed as its original printing, not its current errata. This can make some of the older cards a bit confusing. Also, the cards do not have their flavor texts, which is somewhat disappointing, as the flavor texts can often be entertaining. Still, these are small problems, and it is still a high-quality product.

Version: Lord Of The Deck 4.0
"For what it is, it's awesome!"
Summary: No Mac-using MTG player should be without this. I don't know about other peoples' problems, but this downloaded, installed and operates flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Version: Lord Of The Deck 4.0
"the premier OSX deck/card catalog"
Summary: Although its lack of a deck play-tester/list randomizer (featured in earlier releases of LoTD) does in part hinder its functionality, this application performs a great service for the Mac using TCG player. Props to Kirk Hedden, you rock!
