      "Not ready for prime time"

      June 15, 2014   |   By raus--2008

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.9.0.60

      Pros

I upgraded to 3.9.0.60 when I upgraded to 10.9.3 Mavericks. It works with Mavericks, sort of.

      Cons

Even though the Logitech receiver is plugged directly into my MacPro, I have to unplug it from the USB port, and then plug it back in, so my keyboard is fully recognized by the computer. If I don't do this, only the standard A-Z and 1-0 keys are recognized. The command, and option keys, etc., are not recognized. I did not have this problem with older versions of the Control Center.

      Summary

I may try KeyRemap4MacBook. I do not understand why Logitech does not want to support the Mac community. Most of their new keyboards are not usable on the Mac. Even their headphones, for example the G930 lack Mac support, and are only fully functional on Windows due to the lack of Mac software. Now this upgrade can't even correctly support their older keyboards. I guess they are afraid they will get cooties if they take money from Mac owners.

      "MAC: has worked great 10.6-10.9"

      October 26, 2013   |   By souliloquy

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.8.0

      Pros

Started using it for M795 mouse, when I used to have OS X 10.6, and updated the OS as soon as a new version was out, ever since. Never had a single problem with Logitech's software, all the programmed buttons, used for different keyboard shortcuts etc. (application-specifically at that, i have different presets for ~10 apps)., and they always work fine, I also use a wireless Logitech keyboard and a unifying receiver.
Can't remember being this satisfied with a driver software before, I'm never switching to other brands if they keep it like that.

      Cons

None at all. A paid software I'd already had, SteerMouse was causing regular conflicts and freezes, I've uninstalled and abandoned it and have been relying solely on Logitech's app for mouse customization. Even after Mavericks update, not a single problem.

      Summary

Amazing driver app that gives you all the customization you could ask for, for each key, AND the 4-direction scroll wheel, and works great with a variety of apps (Scrivener, Papers, Pages, VLC, Spotify, Chrome, many games, etc.)

"LCC 3.5.1 Works fine for me in Lion 10.7.2"

      November 29, 2011   |   By apvocelka

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.5.1.23

      Pros

Works well with Lion 10.7.2 and MX Revolution and Logitech diNovo Mac Edition Keyboard . Have not found any of the problems others have mentioned but this update came out on Nov 18, 2011. Retains configuration from previous version.
Fixed everything that wasn't working with version 3.4.0 and Lion.
      I am happy so far.

      Cons

None that I can find yet.

      Summary

This looks like a good update to me. Version 3.5.1.23 may have corrected some of things that others have experienced. I don't know for sure because I went from version 3.40 to 3.5.1.

      "Works fine on Snow Leopard"

      September 03, 2011   |   By zhuuu

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.3

      Pros

Works perfectly in Snow Leopard with my VX Revolution.

      Cons

This version cannot be installed on Lion without some extra work (see Logitech forum for details). The newest version (3.4.0) does not support VX Revolution which is why I'm still using 3.3.0.

      Summary

      Works fine.

"Logitech should just drop Mac support altogether."

      April 25, 2011   |   By manny khool

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.3

      Pros

I wonder how many Mac users install this extremely buggy software unaware of its shortcomings, only to wonder why their Macs are playing up and not realising LCC is the culprit.

      Cons

I get so many console errors when this software is installed, it borders on a virus. Thankfully, there are third party drivers available such as SmartMouse and ControllerMate that give most Logitech mice and keyboards a fighting chance on the Mac.

      Summary

That Logitech have consistently packaged such poorly performing drivers over so many years astounds me. What I really don't understand is how they can claim to provide Mac compatibility (with some of the products) when clearly it's non-existent (with such poorly written software, most Mac users in the know would never install LCC). What amazes me even more is that such a large global company like Logitech is still struggling to write decent Mac drivers. Or is it simply that they just don't care.

"No real value, lots of console errors"

      January 28, 2011   |   By mostundudelike

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.3

      Pros

Comes with an uninstaller (automatically installed in /Applications/Utilities). I give them credit for this.

      Cons

Error messages per Console, "Initializer-based scripting additions have been depreciated and are not supported in 64-bit processes. LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader not loaded."

      Summary

I can't find anything useful about this software and it has serious problems in OS X. My Console window was constantly filled with errors related to LCC.

      "3.2 + 3.1 are both cursed"

      May 28, 2010   |   By bengreens1

      Version: Logitech Control Center 3.2

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Around October 2009 I had steadily increasing problems (kernel panics, for one) with my 24" iMac (Intel Core 2 Duo, 10.5.8) that eventually led to having to reformat the hard drive. Much research led me to conclude LCC 3.1 was the culprit.

I tried using USB Overdrive for a few months until realizing it was somehow making the keyboard lose contact with the OS. Just opening (or clicking on, if it was already open) Keyboard Preferences in System Preferences would reconnect, but what a pain that could be.

I had high hopes for LCC 3.2 when it was released, but the same sorts of problems I'd experienced in October began to happen again, and I ditched it.

Now I just use Apple's Keyboard and Mouse preferences settings. It's a drag not to have a double-click button on my Logitech Trackball (Apple, is it THAT HARD?), and to have all these nonfunctioning iTunes and Calculator and Safari keys on my Logitech keyboards, but I'll take the stability and peace of mind it brings, thank you very much.

      Here's hoping 3.3 is usable.

(And I've done my due diligence, hours upon hours of it. Just have a look at Logitech's own support forums, as well as Apple's. Many, many complaints and questions about LCC, no answers.)

I had an issue where every time I hit a key on my wireless keyboard (any of several logitech wireless keyboards I have) it would register twice. Called Logitech, they confirmed there is a bug in the current version, and their solution is to downgrade to version 3.1 at ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac/

      "Version 3.2 Very Disappointing"

      February 17, 2010   |   By bobtarrmac

What a joke. As a loyal buyer of Logitech products for years and years, I can't believe Logitech has let me down with this release.

LCC 3.2 for Snow Leopard is totally useless. Don't install it unless you want your cursor to move uncontrollably across the screen. Maybe Logitech will get it right with its next version 3.3, .... maybe.
