    "Awesome"

    by johnson_sam on December 9, 2005

Pros: Good! It works really fine. easy to install... no compication

    things u need (know)before using:

    1. U need to make a id in logmein.com.. that is to give u access to ur remote c from anywhere.

    2. ur Driver for the moniter MAY messe up, but if u use WIN XP, this works perfect. ur moniter WILL flick for a second, but come on in a second or 2.

3.opens a firewall port. in case of sp2 'unblock' it.

4.u need to have a 8 letter password.

and i guess that's is all

    5. Remote CONTROLING(only) is FREEE!! ABSULUTLY, i have been using it for 3 months or may be more

Cons: 1. file trasfering is not free... that is expencive.

2.Dont have a option like "only view", its directly goes into remote contoling....

    3. tells the remote user that who is controling,(which may be good), sometime u cannot view ur desktop picture.

    "Best do far"

by alexmcfmartins on December 14, 2005

Pros: to the person who wrote that this software screws some of your drivers, maybe you should update some features on your pc.on the requirements is says that you'll need the OS only..nothing further...well..not quite..you'll have to free up some features on activeX and update you java applets in order to run logmein properly..

as for me,this is one of the best IT tools i've ever tried..and it's free..absolutely free!!!

the idea on the software is great, and though is a little slow sometimes, it doesn't retrieve it's gold medal for best freebie on the IT field.

Cons: someone wrote that it would be an idea to have an id on the logmein site...agreed!!like this, you wouldn'd have to write your email (mine is gigantic!!!!) each time you want to access your pc remotely...beside that,it's perfect...

    "Excellent and free"

by fredandbarney on April 4, 2006

Pros: No special client software install. Works with IE activex control or Java(script?).

    Extensive account and security control.

    Clipboard sync up to 16Kb.

    Free account does not expire.

Cons: Blank screen function on host does not allways work. Depends on HW/SW installed.

No file transfers and remote printing in free version. Paid version is on a subscription basis in stead of fixed one time fee.

    "Nice program"

    by pentium4forever on June 5, 2006

Pros: This program is pretty sweet because you can have all the computers on the network on and control them remotely.

Cons: You have to download and have a little icon in the system tray running always to have it work. Impressive program though!

    "Free and works"

by Trigeek on October 25, 2005

Pros: Really easy to set up. I originally added it to my computer so my brother-in-law could remove a virus. It was so easy to add to my computer that I'm now using it almost every day.

    Cons: None so far.

"The best remote access service. Period."

by Wonk on March 24, 2006

Pros: I use this service constantly and it's fantastic. Just install LogMeIn on your home PC. When you're away, open LogMeIn.com a web browser, sign in, and access your PC. It's that simple.

The free version does not allow file transfers, but you can work around this limitation by emailing it to yourself.

It also enables some measure of security when you're on the road by encrypting your connection. For example, I use my laptop to get online using hotspots at cyber cafes, airports, or coffee shops, then connect to my home PC for all my needs. Once you're connected, nobody can see what you're doing, not even snoopers on the wireless network, or even your boss at work.

Cons: None that I can see.

"Excellent (and free!) service and software."

by FlakPenguin on February 8, 2006

Pros: 1. It's free. Obviously, IF IT'S INTENDED TO BE USED WITH WHAT YOU HAVE (*ahem* to the Mac flamer that posted earlier), that's always a plus.

    2. Very easy integration with the local desktop when connected to a computer remotely. You can just move your cursor off of the remote screen and back on to the local screen without any arm-waving.

    3. Firefox plugin! Seamlessly works from Firefox, including screen resolution controls, fullscreen, color depth, et cetera.

    4. Minimal memory footprint on the host machine, and no driver interference (that is, if you have a decent version of Windows, meaning having the latest service pack installed). (To the person whose video drivers got messed up: No need to reformat, just reinstall the drivers from the site of your video card's manufacturer. If you don't understand that, then too bad for you.)

    5. Fast, smooth, minimal-lag remote desktop control. The wallpaper is turned off on the host machine by default when accessing it remotely, which speeds things up a lot. You can also adjust the screen resolution and color depth to speed things up more.

    6. You automatically get a (brief) free trial of their pro service, which does include a very nice file transfer interface and a few other bells and whistles (see Cons). More than you really need, though, if you just want to control your computer remotely.

    7. It's SECURE. You have to log in to the web site to access your computer(s; you can have more than one set up for remote access), and to be able to connect you need to enter either an access code that you set from the host computer or your username and password for the host computer. People who put this under "Cons": It's a necessary inconvenience; you can go ahead and try to find something that doesn't require this, but don't come crying to me if your computer gets hacked into your first time using it.

Cons: No, it doesn't have free file transfer capabilities. I have a web server with FTP that I use to transfer stuff, but if you don't have something comparable and have a decent-speed (better than dial-up) Internet connection, you could always e-mail things to yourself...

Other than that, there are no problems with what it does have.

"This program saved me multiple headaches"

by jwbiere on March 14, 2006

Pros: My niece called me because she got spyware on her system. I tried to walk her through downloading adware and she could not get it right. I wanted to choke her over the phone. I remembered hearing about this product on the radio and had her download it, I then logged on got rid of the adware, ran her antivirus, defragged and cleaned the system. I am going to have everyone in my extended "computer support" family download this

Cons: This should have been out years ago, it would have saved me many hours and lots of gas.
