Pros
If you have a website that needs to be updated daily (like I do) and you need to go away. Now you can take your laptop with and access you desktop computer to utilize the program software and files saved on the desktops hard drive. You do not have to worry about syncing the laptop and desktop information. I don't have to go away often so I find it difficult to justify the cost of programs like PC Anywhere and Go to my PC. I want to thank the developers of LogMeIn.

This program works cross platform. I have XP Pro on my laptop and Win 2000 on my desktop. Works perfectly.

IT'S FREE! I've used it to troubleshoot my siblings' computers--three states away! Works very well.
Cons
Still a little slow but you can't expect much with restricted bandwidth.

Copy and paste between PCs
Fast using (384 upstream) unless trying to view moving graphics.
No complicated set up unlike vnc because of firewall.
Cons
White board does not work in free version.
Fun to use if you and a friend are doing a project.

Truly EXCELLENT!
Even works on computers behind routers!
Has multiple avenues (ActiveX, Java, Mozilla, HTML) and worse case screen snapshots.
*** FREE *** version ("lite" version) EXCELLENT!
Cons
User Interface much less than it could be. Just not clear and straight forward how to use / configure product. Such a SHAME for such an otherwise EXCELLENT product!

Free for remote access. Works as advertised on XP machines.
Cons
Web site interface was bothersome to me. Monthly expense seems expensive for PRO version. Had issues using it as host on Vista Home Premium. Installed OK but could never got it to serve properly. Moving on to something else....

Being Free and web based is good.
Cons
Something is embedded into the software that should not be in there. Don't know what it is but Windows Defender stopped it from fully downloading so I deleted it. Could be tracking software or spyware. CNet should insist on its offers that they be spyware and tracking free.

This would be the best program I've come across yet that allows remote access. Easy to use, no need to carry Even for the more advanced users, that need information about thethat need to run diagnostics remotely. I used it to help a client that was in a completely different location, and it made it easier to help them solve all their problems.
Cons
Unbelivable how easy it is to use it, anIts almost so easy to use, I'm affraid to leave it aI wouldn't leave the remote utility active, someone who uses keylogger could gain access.

I have always been a big fan of remote desktops and, the first one I ever tried was gotomypc it worked great until the place I worked for set up a surf control, blocking us from going to this site. From there, I started to use REALVNC which was an ok program but as one of the IS guys here at worked pointed out Windows XP remote desktop works much better. Eventually my work closed off all ports, except 80 and none of my remote desktops worked anymore. With logmein I am now able to remotely access my remote desktop from work again!
PROS � It works really well with no screen freezing (like VNC) and there are plenty of different settings to change the desktop appearance and speed up your connectivity.
Cons
On the free version there is no encryption
