Publisher's description of Lock it Safe
This program is a database program that allows you to save Login and password information for future reference only. This program is perfect for those who have so many logins and passwords that they can't keep track of it. It's very simple to use and it's protected by a password. You also have the option to print your list of passwords. Read it before installing.
The password to start the software is: smoroni Remember to change your password after using it for the first time. To change the password go to File set up new password. This is a freeware software and do not expire. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

This freeware password vault isn't user friendly or safe, and its simple interface shouldn't be so difficult to use. Lock it Safe's menu items and buttons often stay ghosted; buttons become active when they're not useful. A prime menu floats oddly above an unused, but similar interface. If the intent was to make it simple to save passwords, this program fails.
Pay attention to the publisher's description. That's the only place you'll find the default password. The Help function for this software is missing. An example of this program's odd design is that you must browse the Password List before you can enter your first password. Clicking Browse opens a new interface that floats haphazardly over the main screen. You'll find that buttons to add, save, delete, and search for passwords are active on the main window, though, which makes them difficult to use. The new Browse window includes the same buttons in two new formats. All users will figure out how to operate Lock It Safe; it just shouldn't be so convoluted.
You need a password to use Lock It Safe, but the password is saved as plain text in the program directory. Even worse, so are all the passwords you've saved. We don't see the point of even wasting your time testing a safe that isn't secure.
