Even kitchen novices will feel like master chefs after using the encyclopedic Living Cookbook. A battery of recipes is here, of course, offering detailed ingredients, instructions, and even images. An integrated calendar is helpful for menu planning, too. But most notable is the comprehensive glossary offering up insight into arcane cooking terms and data. You even can edit entries if your kitchen tests reveal necessary tweaks or tips. Printing and sharing tools also are handy. Anyone looking to sharpen their culinary chops will find Living Cookbook an excellent resource.Publisher's description

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0.51
Pros: As a whole the program would do everything you could want.
Cons: The program is not intuitive enough and takes too much time trying to figure out what should be simple steps. The tutorials need a major overhaul. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix display issues.
Summary: I wish the program would work right and was more intuitive to use. I think I would love it after using it for awhile if it worked. I'm a very experienced computer user (daily since early '80s) and had too many problems trying to get it to work corr... read more >>

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0.51
Pros: I imported all my recipes (2226 of them) from AccuChef without much incident. There are a few mistakes that i'm catching, but that's not much, considering. Apparently when I upgraded to Win7, it caused serious problems with AccuChef. I'm liking it.
Cons: I find it not quite as intuitive as I'd like. I did write an email to support after searching the forum, but it's been 2 or 3 days so far without a response. During the interval I finally figured out the answer to my question.
Summary: Haven't tried some features, so time will tell if I continue to like it, but I think I will. :)

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0.51
"Unusable for shopping/costs management"
Pros: Great for recipe and nutrition info management - great import/export functions and ability to make cookbooks
Cons: VERY VERY difficult (impossible) to use for comparing grocery costs, shopping - linking system is way to complicated
Summary: Do not buy if you need to be able to manage food costs/shopping lists

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0.51
Pros: Capture recipes from internet, keep an inventory so you know when to re-stock
Cons: Could do with the tutorials expanded a little.
Summary: I think this is the best cookery programme I could ever hope for. I have been looking for a programme for a long time now and here it is (I hope, just started using it but I have bought it)

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0.51
"Downloaded a few hours ago and what a dissappoint"
Pros: ????????????
Cons: Was looking for healthy recipes. Am I missing something? Searched for chicken breast and nothing came up. Tried vegetarian and had the same result. Seems good for the meat and potatoes type. Moving on...
