Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0
Pros: Living Cookbook is the creme de la creme of cookbook software technologies. LC2008 is a complete rewrite of the software and makes anyone from the recipe-collecting hobbyist to the serious cook right at home with its full breadth of tools. The interface is customizable by color and font, and importing recipes from other platforms is straightforward. The developer's commitment to the existing user base is evident in the incorporation of the range of functions requested historically. The development of this new version was an undertaking of mammoth proportions and the end result is a rock-solid indispensable tool.
Cons: LC2008 is built on .net 2.0 (Microsoft), and, inexplicably, Microsoft does not currently support postscript/open type fonts. As a result, one is constrained to using true type fonts to customize the interface.

"Excellent Program The best you 'll ever find"
Pros: I've been using this program since version 2005 and it was better than any thing else out there then. I've tried all the others but they just don't compare. I always find myself returning to Living Cook Book Living Cook Book contains more features, more flexibility to customize the program and they provide excellent customer support. The more you use it the more features you find. The new version adds even more enhancements. You might find another program that has something you like, some gimmick, but you?ll soon find yourself coming back to Living CookBook 2008. Strong, solid, has all the bases covered, from print-out, publishing, menu planning, nutrition, shopping lists and inventory control and the list goes on. You won?t be disappointed.

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0
Pros: Where to start....I have been using this product since 03-04-ish . I am a web designer / host so the tree structure of LC felt like I was at home , it was the recipe version of my favorite HTML editor. Time passed and there was no new version.... so I strayed to a different program , I got frustrated with their lack of updating and had just about given up on using recipe software all together.
Recently , LC came out with a new version that blew all others away at a price almost everyone can afford.
I'm back to collecting and trying new recipes , back to making weekly meal plans , back to making organized shopping lists..... I even have a new toy which is making professional looking menus to place in our hard copy family cookbook.
Living Cookbook , is just that living ..... the way I use the program may not be the way you use the program but thats what makes it living.... everyone doing it their own way.
Some people think using recipe software is over the top , not needed just do it by hand. I saved almost 100$ last week by having a meal plan . Thats not just a bunch of recipes on a calender . Its the nutrition analysis , shopping list with costs , inventory so I'm not buying something I already have.
I run a large household and feed 9-12 people a night . If I continue to save 100$ a week , for a month, thats a bill paid or a half a tank of oil or even half a mortgage payment. Spending 15$ ( Upgrade fee ) was well worth the price.
In these tough times , where peoples food bill is through the roof why wouldn't you use every tool to cut costs while eating well with this wonderful piece of software.

Version: Living Cookbook 2008 2.0
Pros: * Very easy to capture recipes from the web!
* Makes shopping a pleasure with the shoppinglist feature!
* Very easy to scale recipes!
* Unprecedented support! (I have never, ever, encountered this kind of dedicated and zealous (in the positive meaning) support in the whole world of software development field. I wish this kind of support could be the exemplar for the rest of companies that work in the sofware field!
Cons: An integration with a shoppinglist programme on your PDA, iPhone and the like is high up on my wishlist! (And I bet it will appear in a forthcomming upgrade!)
