From UtahSoft :LaFonte is a utility program to create 3D text and save it to a 3D file. Three-dimensional text can be created with any installed Windows TrueType fonts, including two-byte fonts. This means 3D text in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean can be created. The 3D text features include bevels, size, ratio, italic, and extrusion. With Move, Scale, and Rotate features you can make a close inspection of the shape of your 3D text. Three-dimensional text information can be saved to 3D files in popular formats like Autodesk 3DS, Wavefront OBJ, VRML 2.0 WRL, and Open Inventor IV. LaFonte is a useful tool for 3D designers who want to quickly and easily create a 3D title or add 3D text into a 3D scene. LaFonte is also a handy tool for creating 3D text, since full-featured 3D programs are often too expensive and heavy.
In version 1.1 the fonts glyph tessellation routine is enhanced to handle irregular font outline information. A text material changing feature has also been added.
