1. The Current version of FREE VIDEO CONVERTER is SLOW to convert Video to AVI.
2. Despite choosing a custom download and removing third party software offered, a 3rd party software called FTALK snuck into the download and I only realized because a FTALK shortcut was placed on my desktop. God knows what else may have snuck in.
3. I immediately decided to get rid of FREE VIDEO CONVERTER and uninstalled only to realize again that the un-installation is sloppy and some files are left behind including a FREE VIDEO CONVERTER folder containing the FTALK software which means I now have to hunt them all down and manually remove. I am so pissed at them! -

fast easy to use conversion that plays back well in media player

conversion of anything to wmv, for which I downloaded it, doesn't create a proper wmv file. It plays well in media player, but is not compatible with Movie Maker and can't be edited or published through WMM without issue.
Summary
Great if you want to convert just for viewing. Not great if you want to work with your converted files. My experience is limited to the purpose for which I used the converter - converting MOV and MTS to WMV for use in WMM. (fyi, if you want to do this, try freemake converter - have had success with it thus far - touch wood! Am I allowed to share that tip here?) Otherwise, very easy to use, lots of options etc.

I used to love this software when it was 100% free now it converts to 60% and koyote soft tries to make you buy it. So beware

Simple converter.
Cons
Cannot finish the convertion from mp4 to avi (divx). The time of the video is 53 min. and the converter finish @ 42 min. the remaining time is 11 min. So 11min. did not convert. that was disappointing. I go back again to winx hd converter deluxe.

Very unreliable. Won't convert videos and doesn't give any error messages. Weird way it handles different aspect ratios.
Summary
This program is a waste of time. In many cases it just won't convert the file and it doesn't tell you why. If you have to convert between different aspect ratios, it seems to just compress or stretch the video. Great if you want to make all your relatives look really tall or really short, but not what I was looking for. I use Freemake Video Converter instead.
