"Best IDE I've used for PHP development"
Version: Komodo IDE for Windows 5.1.4
Pros
Many features, debugger, very customizeable editor. The toolbox and abbreviation features are great time savers as are snippets. Supports XUL extensions like Firefox. Learns from your own code if properly documented (ie JavaDoc or PHPDoc support.)
Cons
Earlier versions of Komodo Edit and IDE were very slow but that was fixed long ago. Great for programming project work but a bit big for quick edits of text files and so on.
Summary
This is a very easy to work with editor. Having tried MANY editors in Windows, Linux, and Mac, Komodo remains my favorite.

"Dangerous Klugefest"
Version: Komodo IDE for Windows 4.0.2
Pros
Has a few fairly useful, run-of-the-mill, if poorly executed, script editing functions.
Cons
Wasted 2 weeks of hard work in the blink of an eye. Uses some kind of caching system for the script you're working on, backing up at incomprehensible intervals to a hidden file. You think you're safe enough with two versions of your script (one locally, one on the server) but then Komodo hangs during upload, status changes to "Not Responding", you restart it and suddenly it overwrites all your hard work locally with some ancient version it had tucked away who knows where and to top it all off, completes the upload of the old version over the working version on the server too. Nightmare! Why, why, why would ActiveState design a torture machine like this!??!!
