Publisher's Description
From QFX Software:
KeyScrambler Personal is a free plug-in for your Web browser that protects everything you type from keyloggers. It defeats keyloggers by encrypting your keystrokes at the keyboard driver level, deep within the operating system. When the encrypted keystrokes reach your browser, KeyScrambler then decrypts them so you see exactly the keys you've typed. Keyloggers can only record the encrypted keys, which are completely indecipherable. Unlike anti-virus and anti-spyware programs that depend on recognition to remove keyloggers that they know about, KeyScrambler will protect you from both known and unknown keyloggers. What's more, KeyScrambler provides protection without getting in your way. You don't have anything to learn about the program and you don't have to do anything differently, but with KeyScrambler your important personal information will be a whole lot safer.

"Effective and simple"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
Runs in background. Unobtrusive.
Cons
Nothing to report.
Summary
I like the software because it does what it says it will do. I also like the fact that I can tell its working by seeing the green banner and the actual encrypted characters.

"does what you expect"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
Protects my email
Cons
no complaints
Summary
having this on the computer impressed my techie friend... good enough for me

"Works, for the most part"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
I tested this against Anti-Keylogger Tester and it seems to work well scrambling the typed keystroke. Anti-Keylogger Tester captured the encrypted keys only.
- Transparency of use is also commended.Cons
- Support is non-existent. They never even replied to pre-sales questions.
- Login password to XP was encrypted (causing mysterious login failures).
- Poor documentation of features.
- Doesn't work well side-by-side with keyboard macros.Summary
It's relatively good for what it does - scrambling keystrokes. However, the program seems to be buggy. It caused a real scare when my XP password was not recognized. As it turns out the software was passing encrypted keys to XP Login screen (when it shouldn't have since the Personal version only supposed to work on IE & Firefox).
This seems to be a product with no real support behind it. Unless that changes, I am hesitant to upgrade to the Premium or Professional version. They also do not have trial version for the Premium/Pro version. -
"Quite good - effective and reliable product."
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
Does what it claims to do, which is to encrypt your personal information as you complete forms on the net.
Cons
Works without a problem with FireFox, but I can't get it working with IE 8. Tried numerous ininstalls and reinstalls to no avail.
Summary
Give it a try, see what you think. Like it, keep it! Dislike it, turf it! Despite difficulties with IE 8 I'm keeping it for FireFox, which, at the end of the day, is a far superior web browser...

"Ingenious Yet Buggy"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
KeyScrambler is incredibly easy to use and is effective for what it does.
The Pro version works with all sorts of programs, including World of Warcraft - where keyloggers are notorious for stealing passwords.Cons
KeyScrambler is buggy.
Summary
Sometimes what you type is incorrectly decrypted, and thus, what comes out on the screen is gibberish. This happens particularly with encrypted web pages and on World of Warcraft. Once the kinks are worked out, this has the potential to be a revolutionary, phenomenal program. I use it a lot - that is, when it decides to behave and not do strange things to me.

"its not bad"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
privacy and confidentiality
Cons
nothing really
-
"Wouldn't feel safe without it"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
quiet and unobtrusive
Cons
sometimes have to wait a while for it to be updated if a new version of f/f browser is launched
Summary

"excellent program; no problems activating it...."
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
At the top left corner of the screen it shows how it is encrypting every keystroke you make...It come out jibberish....Updates regularly to improve encryption....
Cons
I have only noticed it once and a while, but I think it is from me typing so fast that it suddenly freezes up for a second....I can live with it..
Summary
This program with Microsoft Security Essentials, Advanced Systemcare Free, Mozilla Firefox and Hotspot Shield make a total system for a WiFi laptop at a coffee shop that has an open system....Consider it as hardened as a MAC/FBI computer~! I have tried to have it Hacked at "Shields Up" and they said:" This is very unusual for a Windows based program to act this way....I was totally UNHACKABLE~! and totally invisable~!"
So Key Scrambler is one tool in the many to harden your laptop, much like an aircraft that is flying from the U.S. to France...They have many circuits to protect the plane..If one fails, another takes over.... -
"Is it working?"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
Easy to install
Cons
I like to know if something is aactually working, and this wont tell me
Summary
I keep getting an error warning and the image/icon on the bottom right for the programme says I am not in a protected application. I cant find any settings to change that will change this.
We have to take a lot on faith when it comes to this programme, and I am not sure that is a good idea -
"Seems to do what is advertised"
Version: KeyScrambler Personal 2.6
Pros
Nice to have another line of defense against malware.
Cons
Hasn't caused any problems.
Summary
I would recommend it.
