Version: Kernel Outlook PST Repair 7.02.01
"Better than Outlook Inbox Repair Toolbox"
Pros: This program is very much like Outlook Inbox Repair toolbox. It will find the same amount of emails and junk emails. Kernel Outlook PST Repair will find contacts unlike Outlook Inbox Repair Toolbox and will find more tasks and calender items than Outlook Inbox Repair Toolbox.
Cons: Almost the same as Outlook Inbox Repair Toolbox

Version: Kernel Outlook PST Repair 7.02.01
Pros: I purchased this trying to fix an over the 2GB limit file. Didn't work. Workstation hung up. Tech support was no help. Getting run around about a refund.
Try suggestions at slipstick dot com.
Cons: Did not work as claimed.

Version: Kernel Outlook PST Repair 7.02.01
"Avoid this product and this company"
Cons: It was a complete disaster. It did not do what it claimed do it. Among other things, it botched ALL my contacts. And they are giving me the runaround on a refund.
If all you want is a way to recover a few lost emails, then perhaps it is worth it. But if you are expecting a repair and rebuild of your entire PST file, do not even consider this product.

Version: Kernel Outlook PST Repair 7.02.01
"Doesn't quite do what it says on the tin"
Pros: Looks good, easy to use (but read on!).
With some playing around it's more successful at restoring my files than the Inbox Repair Tool.
Cons: The program is set up so either it all succeeds or all fails, and in a recovery package that's disappointing. I've spent all day trying to restore, and again Kernel looks like it's hit a go-slow point and is on the point of falling over. If it left a remnant of a useful file then I'd be happy, but it leaves nothing of real use when this happens.
Instead I've now decided to restore each sub-folder individually. Time-consuming and frustrating, but quicker.
Also it looks like Kernel works best when Outlook is closed which means it hogs your whole machine basically. Would really help if more than one instance of Kernel could run at any one time - to repair/restore different psts or different parts of psts.

Version: Kernel Outlook PST Repair 7.02.01
"Excellent. Recovered all my Outlook 2003 files after I surpassed 2 GB limit."
Pros: I'm surprised by the other reviews after I bought and used Kernal. I had bumped over the 2 GB limit of Outlook 2003 storage and could not access any of the files. I ran the MS repair, and was about to have to use the MS extraction tool that deletes file material to bring it under 2 GB. Kernal broke the large file into two files, recovering all e-mail and contacts.
Kernal displayed the directories and number of e-mails in each directory and the number of contacts.
It definitely does more than the two tools that MS provides. It makes me wonder if two of the other reviewers did not do something properly.
In my case, Kernal worked perfectly, as described. My tech support person had not used it, but was impressed by the results in my case.
Cons: While it is fairly intuitive, I would have liked some documentation of what to do and when. It is a slow recovery process. My recovery took something in the order of 18-20 hours.
