After almost a year of delay Karate Master, the first martial arts action game for PalmOS makes its debut.
Karate Master was delayed because of insufficient development resources and financial issues with the original game developer. Now everything is settled down.
The game will be a fresh look back for those who remember the old Karateka for Apple ][ or Commodore 64 days. The plot, animation and music are the same. Certain details are still missing in this build, but are expected to be added later with free upgrades.
The game plot is as simple as an action game plot needs to be: the evil Acuma (translated evil spirit) had captured the beautiful princess Marico.
Our hero happens to be in love with her and brave enough to run for a rescue mission. In order to save the princess and marry her, he must fight his way to Akuma's lair and defeat him.
The original game, published in 1984 by Broderbund Software under the name Karateka is often referred as the father of the 2D large-scale actor action games.
