The straightforward, sunny Jing Project is one of the easiest ways to grab and share screenshots and videos straight from your PC. The interface, half a lemon yellow sphere, sits at the top of your screen, waiting for you to hover over it to begin capturing the image or screencast in a crosshair.
You'll be able to annotating images and review videos, but copying, saving, and sharing them is what Jing is really about. Version 2.0 adds a useful Help Center and lets you configure new buttons that will upload your creations to Flickr, an FTP account, or to Screencast.com in a click.
An optional paid upgrade to Jing Pro ($14.95 per year) upgrades videos to hi-def H.264 quality, removes the watermark on videos, and easily uploads screencasts to Facebook, YouTube, Viddler and Vimeo. To the publisher's credit, the upgrade options are unobtrusive and the free version remains completely serviceable.

Publisher's description
From TechSmith :Jing is always ready when you need to capture a quick image or record a screencast. The goal is simplicity, and you can share your content to your local hard drive, an FTP server, a network drive, Screencast.com, embedded on your blog, copy an image to your clipboard, or upload it directly to your Flickr account. You are probably getting the idea; Jing is spontaneous capture with multiple ways to get your content to yourself or your audience. Jing is an innovative project from TechSmith (makers of SnagIt and Camtasia Studio) and the team is keenly interested in learning how you engage in visual communication.

Version: Jing 1.6.8198
Pros: One of the best screen recorders I've used to date. Fantastic video and audio quality (captures from both speakers AND the microphone) and a great frame rate to boot.
Cons: You can't export to any format other than SWF, and any attempts to convert the SWF to another format don't work (you only get the thumbnail, not the video itself).
