JPEGCompress is designed to assist in the compression of large photos, through an easy-to-use interface, for the purpose of Internet distribution. JPEGCompress includes support for Image Resizing and Cropping, Flipping and Rotating, as well as support for Image Effects such as Brightening, Darkening, Inverting, Blurring and Sharpening. JPEGCompress natively supports GIF, JPEG, PNG, PBM and X-Windows image formats, as well as partial support for Windows Bitmaps. JPEGCompress also utilizes QuickTime (if installed) to open and save JPEG 2000, TIFF, Photoshop, TGA and even QuickTime Movies.

Version 2.9 adds image cropping, mouse information.

What's new in this version:

Version 2.9 adds Image Cropping, Mouse Information. Version 2.9 also addresses bugs in the Update Checker, User Interface, Send to Email and Send to FTP Wizards, and various other aspects of the program.

"works extremely well"

Pros: very easy to use , it gives visual comparisons of before and after compression ,plus sliding scale of amount of compression chosen.
