JFC for Mac OS X is a flash card program for learning Japanese. It is a port of the Windows version. Features include: automatic card generation using the included dictionary, timed cards, keyboard shortcuts, character inspector (right-click), extensive configurability, and an intuitive Aqua interface.

The download includes everything you need to get started, including an example flash card file. You can download more flash card files [here] and [here], or use TextEdit and follow Glenn Rosenthal's instructions for making your own [here].

What's new in this version:

  • JFC could crash on pre-Jaguar systems. Believed fixed.
  • Auto-vocab using EDICT now works properly. The EDICT dictionary is available as a separate download [here].
  • Font changes now take effect on the next card.
  • Character Inspector now always draw the correct character.
  • Page Up, Page Down, Home, End shortcuts added.
  • Card text is now copyable. Select any textfield and hit C... See all new features
