    "Must-have application"

    October 27, 2013   |   By neumannu47

    Version: JDiskReport 1.4

The visual presentation of the files is very logical and intuitive. It's really easy to see where your files are. Plus, considering the program is free, the author is surprisingly responsive.

The Windows 7 issue was aggravating until I found a solution. The problem should have been fixed by now.

If you're not comfortable editing the registry, all you have to do is copy the latest version of javaw.exe to the \windows\system32 folder in Windows 7. The solution above is better because javaw.exe will be updated when Java is updated. With the solution I suggested, you will want to remember to copy a new version in system32 periodically.

I install this utility on every computer and recommend that my friends do the same. There are similar utilities, but the interface on this one is very easy to understand. I like it.

"OK Tool for the most part!"

    February 23, 2013   |   By cimofj2

    Version: JDiskReport 1.4

Very quick way to see file statistics.

The "Top 50" Feature is considerably limiting (when statistics for everything is desired). Could us a "Custom" way of collecting statistics for use in another program (like Excel) when ALL file info is needed.

Could be of a lot more use if Con was resolved.

"Relatively easy fix for 64 bit OS installations"

    February 07, 2013   |   By halemos

    Version: JDiskReport 1.4

    Useful tool

Requires a little work to use with 64 bit OSs.

You can use this tool on 64 bit OS's. You'll need to edit the properties of the original shortcut to use the application in standalone mode. You'll need to edit one registry setting to use the application via the context menu. In both cases the edit is very similar.

    Edit the application shortcut:
    Change the default "Tartget" from:

To enable the context menu to work, edit the following registry key:
    Computer\HKEY_CLASSES\Root\Folder\shell\JDiskReport 1.4.0\command
(Default)... open the key, look at the path, make the same edit... prepend C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ to the javaw.exe already there.

    Best of luck.
