Version: IsoBuster 2.3.0.1
"Personal version worth every penny! Simple to use! Saved my butt!"
Pros: My DVD data was unreadable for reasons unknown. The camera/user managed to somehow record onto Track 2, leaving Track 1 empty. I tried TEN apps, of which 8 couldn't even read the disk.
ISObuster showed me not only WHAT was on the disk, but also what KIND of data was found.
**Licensing was ultra fast and easy**
**Recovery ran at DISK SPEEDS**
**Never read any manuals**
Cons: I have ZERO complaints about the purchased product.
The TRIAL version won't let you view a segment of the data itself. Had the TRIAL version been able to show me 3 seconds of the video, I would have bought it so much sooner.

Version: IsoBuster 2.3.0.1
Pros: It did show the directory of files on the CD I tried to restore. That's it on the positive side.
Cons: On the IsoBuster's site they say that the program has and always will have free functionality (anything that was included in version 1), which includes restoring files from basic CD/DVD formats. Paid version in addition has options to restore files from videoCD, DVD HD, etc, and customer support.
I needed to restore files from CD-R, so I opted for a free version initially and then for a trial version. Neither option gave me ANY functionality. Whether I tried to restore a single file or a directory, or just see their content, a window would pop-up saying I had to pay to use the function. It would do nothing but demand a payment from me. Then, after a minute of this circus another window popped out saying something like "Now, that you have enjoyed for a while our wonderful free software, why don't you pay for it?" Oh, yeah??????
Should I pay for a deception? Don't think so.
