Iran Mania Toolbar is an Internet Explorer Windows toolbar in English for Iranians living abroad. It displays the latest news from Iran, provides links to Iranian e-cards, mobile tones, jokes, and shopping. It also gives you the option to block pop-ups and to search for sites on the Internet using Yahoo!, Google, or the IranMania Search Engine. The toolbar has no spyware or advertising. It will silently update itself whenever a higher version becomes available. The update only takes a few seconds.

This free browser plug-in offers a gateway to everything Iranian, but it isn't configurable and is an Internet Explorer exclusive. Iran Mania Toolbar English rests on your IE browser, giving you access to current news updates, funny stories, games, music, and movies from IranMania.com. You also can search via Yahoo and Google and we like that it can highlight search terms on sites. You'll find links to Iranian e-cards, jokes, wallpapers, mobile tones, Persian recipes, and the latest fashion. Moreover, the program has welcome extras, including cache and cookie clearing, a history cleaner for the toolbar as well as IE, and built-in pop-up blocking, all of which worked well during assessments. To our dismay, we didn't find options to remove unused buttons from the bar, nor did we find options to add in other system components such as program links and weather forecasts (as we've come to appreciate in other toolbars). Although it's limited to IE users, Iran Mania Toolbar English is free and worth the download for Iranians and others interested in the culture.
