"For whatever reason I really like it, its a beta so its not without flaws though"

    March 20, 2006  |   By jjbatchelor

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

It has a nice sleak feel. I like browsers that don't take up a fifth of the viewing area with the interface. With the ability to remove certain aspects of the browser you can make it amazingly sleak. I like the color scheme, although options would be nice (maybe there are, I haven't really looked). It has all those things that browsers should have. I don't really know what's not to like. Browsers are really all by preference now, so go with what you like, they are pretty much the same.

    Cons

I don't know if there are any. It seems like the only con is that it is a microsoft product, but I am back on a microsoft kick so I am okay with that. For a while I tried using everything besides Microsoft products/apps...but I think microsoft stuff is just easier and is more user-friendly than some replacements (from Virus/spyware apps to music players/jukeboxes). I do like Opera, Firefox, Avant (way to much stuff going on though), but I have come back to IE...for at least the time being. Like I said, there isn't a way to make your own browser (unless you are a programmer) so go with one that you like to look at, that seems the most beneficial...why have a browser with millions of features if you won't use them?

    "Newer version works better"

    March 20, 2006  |   By jim_in_ky

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

The new download on Microsoft works better than previuos releases. Remember it is a beta and some bugs may still be in it, No real problems so far.

    Cons

Still a work in progress. Still has some sites that do not view correctly but not a bad of a problem as previous releases. Use add remove in control panel with show updates to remove all earlier IE 7.0 betas.

    "Not too good."

    March 14, 2006  |   By donkey22

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

It's faster. The browsing engine seems improved. Not quite sure about security yet, but anti-phishing is a good idea.

    Cons

The interface is very weird. While it's not a jumbled interface, it has it's toolbars in places you wouldn't expect. Also the program so far is taking twice as much memory as IE6. I wasn't surprised since most MS programs tend to use more, and more computer resources with each new release, or so I believe. It's the interface that turns me off, and may turn off others to the point where they will go to other browsers. Even browser skins. I also tried to customize the browser. So far I can't see any way to customize it to my liking. It's seems very limited in that area.

"Better than previous IE versions, but CAN'T beat Opera, Firefox Browsers......."

    March 6, 2006  |   By praveen360

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

Just an Imitation of Opera, Firefox Browsers....... Download only if you are an Internet Explorer user, & never used other browser before.

There are no Great NEW features, all the features are already know to Opera & Mozilla Firefox users.....

    Only 2 NEW features

    1) Quick tabs - which will show the snapshot of all the tabs that are opened.

    2) Zooming of page Capability

IE7 is much clean version of all Internet Explorer browsers....The TRADITIONAL Microsoft Look....File, Edit, View are all gone, & the interface is made much simpler.

    Cons

No Improvements in Functionality, EXCEPT cosmetic changes.

There's Phishing Filter, which not everybody wants to use.

VERY DISAPPOINTING product when considering it’s from the big company Microsoft & the time they are taking for the release.

Better stick to Opera or Firefox browsers .... which have more plug-ins and features.

"Finally, ie plays catch up, but needs work."

    March 5, 2006  |   By Agent Blue

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

Lets be honest, if you are trying a beta, it may have issues, however, IE7, is going the right way, tabbed browsing, uses less screen space, more modern, leaner, funky feel. Favourites at a touch of the star, phishing filter built in (available for ie6 as add on),all in all, I like it and my wife likes it. Repeat it is a Beta!

    Cons

A little unstable, the minimalist feel takes some getting used to, had to do some work on Mailwasher, as it changed a setting on instal, yesterday it kept closing and saying no connection, but that seems to have resolved itself today. Don't forget it is a Beta, it is in testing!

"It works as good as it looks"

    March 5, 2006  |   By harizon9

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

The feature that I liked most in IE7 is its tabbed browsing. Finally, I could have tabs in my browser.

I liked is quick easy saving of RSS feeds. The favorites etc are good. Exporting of favorite is very useful as I am now able to use these favorites easily while sitting in school.

One more good thing is the setup of default search engine. IE team did a good thing by keeping this feature flexible, as I never liked MSN search

The look of the browser is good and, the absence of menubar did not make any difference to me personally.

    Cons

Some times, when I download something in IE7 and later try to run it, a message pops ip saying incorrupt installation. When I do the same thing from some other browser it downloads perfectly.

It would have been nice if the browser would have started next time with the same windows, that were open while closing down the browser, as in opera.

    "FLAWLESS INSTALL ... AND UNINSTALL"

    March 4, 2006  |   By racetruckdriver

Version: Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 preview

    Pros

This version of IE is a major improvement over IE 6, however, it is not ready for everyday usage. The interface is 100% cleaner and easier to use, tabbed browsing is fantastic, and the zoom function is nice for the hi-res monitors most of us use today. Also, the self retracting 'favorites' dock was very convenient, and saved alot of screen space.

    Cons

That said, not all web pages are supported in this Beta version, and most had minor flaws in their rendering. This version also does not support web acceleration from my ISP. When it comes to speed, Avant Browser still wins out easily.
