"Didn't see any difference"

Pros
This program can help me control a feature on hard drives known as Automatic Acoustics Management, a feature which, when enabled, makes a drive run quieter, at the expense of throughput.
Cons
Even though I can control AAM, I'm not sure about speed, I haven't seen any difference since switching from the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver to the one provided with the program. (???) And, should I set AAM for "Maximum Performance" or disable it?
Summary
For those of you that encounter a system failure, I suggest you read the fine print, because it is meant for computers containing the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver, not drivers for nVidia or ASUS or whatever. But in the mean time, those parallel ATA drives are going obsolete -- start making plans to buy a new system.

Well I downloaded this for a compaq presario 1500 (older intel pentium 4) and it seems to do a great job. You should check intels website first because there are many specs that your computer should have but also if this isn't the one for you on there website they may have one for your system. As i have learned, you should always check your system specs.

When this software is first installed, it works like a dream! But, READ THE CONS!

I downloaded the application two times. On the first go around with this application I couldn't directly link my system failure to the software. However, after a fresh install of Xp I learned what my culprit was
very quickly. This was was the first effort
made in tweaking the computer back to the state of crash - 10 minutes after installing the application, I was Re-installing Windows Xp for the second time in one day.
Beware - of this software, or any other Intel system improvement software. On further reasearch of the software I learned that in every legal disclaimer Intel doesn't stand by the product. In other words it is written that they wiil not or do not promise the software to work and may cause system failure. Why release a product
that is know to cause system failures?

"It greatly increased my speed"

But you have to first go to the Intel site. I needed to download the Intel Chipset Identification tool to ensure I was downloading a version that was compatible with my Intel chip. Once I did that, dowloaded, and installed the Application Accelerator, my system ran visably faster after the restart. My computer used to freeze for a short period in particular parts of a game I play, but it no longer does so. I also had a delay when I first opened several Office products, and that is gone now as well. I did not think a free download could make such an impact and am impressed. I am going to search the Intel site to see what else is available. Thanks Intel.

"Do not download until you check intel"

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!! This software does not support newer processors in you have a Media Center PC Pentium 4 DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!! It doesn't not support the chipset. I downloaded it and windows xp would not start back up the computer would shut down and retry again. I had to do a system restore to get my computer back up. If you download check on Intels website to see if your processor in support in this software.

fairly straightforward install, never had any problems with any previous and current version of this product.
Cons
definitely NOT for the uninitiated. The potential user should at least know the basics. A visit to intel's website is definitely recommended before installing this product.

Pros
Installed this on an old PIII 800 system and it boots up and runs much faster now. Be aware though, as has already been said a few times, IT IS DESIGNED FOR SPECIFIC INTEL CHIPSETS. So check the Intel site first. It's not the apps fault if you install it on an incompatible system.
