Instant Memory Cleaner provides an easy-to-use front-end interface for Microsoft's command-line ClearMem and FreeMem commands (for XP and Vista, respectively). This free download installs an icon to your system tray, and its color provides a handy clue about your system's memory use. For instance, when the icon is green, the system's free memory is more than 30 percent of the total physical memory; yellow means less is available; and red means its time for action.
We liked the informative small pane that opened when we clicked the tray icon. This pane displayed the megabytes of free physical memory and included a check box that verified whether Instant Memory Cleaner would launch at boot. Also included are buttons for launching a memory-cleaning session, opening Help, minimizing the pane, or exiting the utility. A final button opens a fresh pane (again, nicely designed) with details on current memory use, including megabytes of Total Physical Memory, megabytes of Memory in Use, and percentage of Memory in Use.

It may contain spyware however I have not had it appear on my system as of yet and should be cleaned up by easily by your anti-spyware software. (Note: This spyware will not harm your computer!)
Summary
This is a great piece of software overall and would recomend it to anyone looking for a Free memory cleaner. If you are worried about the spyware then pay for your software instead of trying to get something for nothing!

My Kapersy anti-Virus program immediately warned me that Vassilios Instant Memory Cleaner 7.12 contained a backdoor Trojan virus and correctly blocked setting up the program.

I had not read the user reviews before but when I checked I noticed that there was a prior review concerning a Virus in this download;hence the Editor was negligent in not verifying that fact and I am requesting the editor to use a Kapersy anti-Virus program (even the 30 day free trial) on a CNET computer running Windows Vista to verify the backdoor Trojan and when the Editor confirms that he should properly remove this product from CNET download.com or face civil suit for damages from every person his promotion of this product misleads into downloading with the backdoor Trojan Virus this product contains. I am an experienced paralegal and advise anyone who did not have Kapersky anti-Virus and,therefore, downloaded this product resulting in harm to their computer, that such persons have a valid negligence claim against CNET for monetary damages.
Please verify this product has a backdoor Trojan Virus and remove it from CNET immediately or the Editor faces future court litigation costs and monetary damages.

Perfect as described, wouldn't ask for much more than having this tool under a Dev Environment, which after running debug 500x an hour = god send using this perfect tool.

NONE as for the ones claiming slowness, well get more RAM and upgrade and turn off some of your darn pr0n you got going so you can speed up things :P.
Summary
For the slammer of saying there is a virus, get a life and download NOD32 from ESET and scan with that yourself, you have NO CLUE what you are talking about when it comes to viruses. Do your research before you go flaming a company that made a good piece of software. If you like put the .exe inside a *nix environment and run a strings on it and see what it does. Don't nub out on us.

I did not bother using this program and ran VirusTotal and it showed that it had found AdWare.Win32.Rabio.a in the program 4 times in CAT-QuickHeal 9.50, Ikarus T3.1.1.34.0, Rising 20.65.02.00, and VBA32 3.12.8.6. Download this at your own risk.
Summary
C|Net, I know you guys regularly scan programs for spyware, but you need to go the extra step to scan for adware, viruses, trojans, malware, and other potentially damaging things that can hurt our computers. If users don't know what they're getting into, they might as well call for assistance. Just because a product is top-rated by you doesn't mean it'll get a top-rating by the users because it will run into flaws right after you've finished testing it. More often than not, there are some nasty bugs on the internet that can inject code into executables that can make it seem like there could be an infection inside but that may make it throw people off in an effort to steer them away from a reputable program. But that's not the case with Instant Memory Cleaner 7.12, as there is true adware code present in this executable file.
