If you need to free up system memory or if you think you do, but aren't sure this little tool will provide the help you need.
Instant Memory Cleaner provides an easy-to-use front-end interface for Microsoft's command-line ClearMem and FreeMem commands (for XP and Vista, respectively). This free download installs an icon to your system tray, and its color provides a handy clue about your system's memory use. For instance, when the icon is green, the system's free memory is more than 30 percent of the total physical memory; yellow means less is available; and red means its time for action.
We liked the informative small pane that opened when we clicked the tray icon. This pane displayed the megabytes of free physical memory and included a check box that verified whether Instant Memory Cleaner would launch at boot. Also included are buttons for launching a memory-cleaning session, opening Help, minimizing the pane, or exiting the utility. A final button opens a fresh pane (again, nicely designed) with details on current memory use, including megabytes of Total Physical Memory, megabytes of Memory in Use, and percentage of Memory in Use.

Version: Instant Memory Cleaner 6.7
"A Good Utility When You Can't Afford More Ram!"
Pros: It is true, that the best option is installing more ram! However, if you are like me, extra money to buy a ram card isn't the easiest way to fix the problem.
It is a popular opinion that ram optimizing programs are a waste of time, and useless for any system. In my opinion, that is not a well thought out statement. In today's world, software is optimizing anything you can think of in regards to a computer system ~ why not ram optimization too? I have put this software through some real~time stress testing! It does all that it claims to do, and a little bit more!
There is nothing complicated in the use of this software ~ simply install it, and it will do the rest for you from the back ground of your system. Unlike some other software making the same claims, this one preforms well. Simply set the amount of ram to free, and the rest is done for you.
Cons: Every once in awhile, your system can hesitate while the optimization is in progress. If you notice that pause on a regular basis simply lower the amount of ram to be optimized!
The program will free the amount of ram that you ask for, but if you get greedy your system will hesitate.

"Couple this App. with Windows, and you got MEMORY!"
Pros: Windows on it's own does a pretty fair job on the Memory part, but add Instant Memory cleaner with it, and you got MEMORY! Don't over use it, depending on how much time you spend on your computer. I am on my computer, on average, about 8 hours a day, and I run Instant Memory Cleaner about 3 to 4 times a day, and have never had a problem with it, and as always the best part of the App. is: It's free and easy to use!

"Best of the best, can't find any fault, in fact..."
Pros: This is the least intrusive memory cleaner that I have ever seen, and I've tried all of them, literally. I have used the PREVIOUS best one, freeRam XP pro, and have been for a long time, but not anymore. This one far surpasses the others, for the mere fact, that, you haven't a clue it's working, no slow downs, no even momentary freezes of any program or the mouse. It is truely seamlessly integrated into the system.

Pros: Takes up almost no system resources on its own, give a color meter to represent how much memory is being used, its completely free and does what it says it does. Nothing to complain about.
