At a time when Firefox and Opera are getting all the love, it takes some real, um, guts to call your Web application Ideal Browser. So points for that. However, though Ideal Browser has an unbeatable price (nothing) and offers much-needed improvements to Internet Explorer, it falls short of pefection. First the good stuff: Ideal Browser offers a tabbed interface and can save pages in a group for one-click opening. Plus, you'll find tools for protecting your privacy and managing logins. However, Ideal Browser uses the IE engine, so surfing with it is no faster than with IE. The built-in pop-up blocker worked decently in our tests, yet it didn't stop floating ads. Although the app didn't hog much memory even with many tabs open, we noticed some slowdowns when opening new tabs. Nevertheless, Ideal Browser is worth downloading for those unwilling to quit the Microsoft platform.Publisher's description

The QuickSearch and Alias features make navigation and searching as easy as a key press, and the program helps control first- and third-party cookies and P3P privacy policies.
Version 2.1 adds metasearch engine and reduces file size.

Version: Ideal Browser 2.1
"No where even close to Slimbrowser . . ."
Pros: It has many of the same features that Slimbrowser has, such as ad and pop-up blocking. Nice clean appearance, but that is about it.
Cons: Installation options are a joke. You cannot even choose the folder in which to install it. One of the major pros of Slimbrowser is the ability to pick and choose what will be deleted upon exit. Ideal browser lets you delete all (sites visited, cookies, etc, etc.) or nothing. Between the two custom browsers, there is no competition. Download Slimbrowser. It's free and I've used it for years.

"100 Times better than IE, but still easy to use for those use to IE"
Pros: I like this browser a lot. It has great privacy controls, increased security, and cool feature like auto-login. It is WAY WAY better than IE, but it keeps things simple and easy to use for those use to the IE platform. I would recommend this browser to anyone.
Cons: The only thing I see as a downside is that I can't use my favorite toolbars with this browser.

Pros: No Pros...
Cons: Couldn't get this browser to properly install in my system. It doesn't like my already existing super-browsers Firefox, IE8 and Opera.
Summary: I'm disappointed. I enjoy trying different software, especially browsers. I attempted a few work-arounds, but just couldn't get this one to go. On to the next one...
